Disclaimer: Yeah, yeah. I don't own these two... Would be good if I did, though.
Angie always had feelings for Derek ever since she first came to Hope Hospital, although at first she acted hostile towards him. She never knew exactly what it was about that she liked... Was it his unwavering determination, his unshattering confidence? Or just his looks? No matter what it was, she had still not confessed them to him after 1 year of knowing each other. Countless times during GUILT operations she'd just stopped for a moment... and stared at him, wishing she could tell him but not being able to muster up the courage. And Derek had never even caught onto it, he was always too busy doing paperwork, or flying over to South Africa to sort out little kids suffering from odd diseases.
Angie was sat at a desk looking over something, with Derek behind her, doing some paperwork. Was it the time? The sun was shining through the window, filtered by the half-open blinds that covered it. If she told him now... what if he just laughed and took it as a friendly joke? What if he went mad and stormed off? But she had to say something, she couldn't hold it in any longer.
"Derek?" Angie asked softly, looking over at him from her chair. Derek swiveled to face her on his considerebly more comfortable chair. "Yeah? What is it?" Derek responded, a look of curiosity on his face. "I-" Angie started, but was cut off when someone burst into the room, a frantic look about her.
"Doctor! There's someone who needs operating on right now! He's going into cardiac arrest! Hurry!" She yelled, rushing away from the door and down the corridor. "Angie, let's go!" Derek exclaimed as Angie followed him and the Nurse. Maybe another time.
