Chapter 1: The Ship of Broken Dreams
As Rose lay in the boat, the tiny little lifeboat that would take her away from Jack forever, she allowed her eyelids to flutter, close. She missed him already. She felt sick with longing for what was lost- the life they were going to share, the children they would have. She wished she had gone down with him, but immediately scolded herself as she was reminded of the ever-binding promise she had made to Jack. Surely, she couldn't break that now. It was the last thing she had to hold on to. Hot tears oozed onto her cold cheeks as she turned over and went to sleep.
