A little fic which I had a sudden urge to write. Not Beta'd so all mistakes are mine!!!
Diamonds
Elizabeth and Teyla glanced at each other quickly before turning back to the two men in front of them. Lt. Colonel John Sheppard and Dr. Rodney McKay had just waltzed into the gym where Teyla was training Elizabeth to be able to protect herself and challenged them to a 'friendly game of poker'.
At their silence John asked again. "Teyla, Elizabeth please, just this once. We promise to go easy on you."
Teyla smiled at the Colonel. "Of course, we would love to play. Just be sure to keep your word."
Both Rodney and John beamed at the two women before turning round and running off before they could change their mind. Teyla turned to Elizabeth.
"Well, it looks like they don't know about our poker nights doesn't it?" She said.
Elizabeth nodded. "Yes it does, but it's to our advantage."
"Let's go practise. Just to be sure that we're prepared. You never know they may be better than us, but somehow I doubt it!" Teyla advised.
The two of them sauntered off; their arms linked and grins on their faces.
At around 10 o'clock Atlantean time Teyla and Elizabeth knocked on John's door and it almost instantaneously opened. They sat down on the carpet where Rodney was lying and waited for John to enter with the cards. He soon did and joined the rest of them on the carpet.
"Okay ladies and gentleman. Tonight we are playing Texas hold 'em!" John announced. "However before beginning this game we would like to make a suggestion to the lovely ladies. We are playing in pairs as it will make the game easier, Rodney and I versus you two. We were wondering if perhaps you might want to try… strip poker?"
Elizabeth quickly whispered to Teyla and she nodded. "Okay gentlemen. Strip poker it is."
Soon the game was well under way.
The game only began to slow as it neared 11 o'clock. Elizabeth was down to her T-shirt, panties and socks, Teyla to her bra, trousers and panties, Rodney to his boxers and one sock and John to his boxers. It seemed as though Teyla was right; the two men were terrible at poker!
John looked up at them with a grin on his face.
"Seeing as the day is drawing to a close let's make this our last hand." He said confidently. "Bet all that we have left, no folding."
Teyla and Elizabeth grinned, it was a challenge. "Deal, be prepared to lose boys!"
The next hand was dealt and both teams grinned. It was all or nothing.
Both teams put their cards down at the same time and John and Rodney stared in disbelief. They had lost, again, badly. Teyla and Elizabeth looked proudly down at their hand; a diamond Royal Flush. They grinned as they saw John and Rodney only had four of a kind.
The two men stood and glanced anxiously down at the two women, glowing in their victory. Rodney slipped his sock off, catching the attention of Elizabeth and Teyla before both men slid off their boxers. Teyla and Elizabeth's eyes widened and grins formed on their faces along with a slight blush; it looked like diamonds truly were a girl's best friend.
