Pain. The one word Charles Bartholomew Bass would use to describe his life.

From his very first breathe in this world, he was already causing pain.

Pain for his mother, who died because of his birth.

Pain for his father, who lost the love of his life because of him.

Pain for his best friend Nate, who had his girlfriend of 10 years cheat on him, betray him… because of him.

Pain for himself, knowing the reason for everyone else's misery was him.

But worst of all… even above his own sorrows, was Blair's pain. She was always there for him. She always gave herself selflessly to him, no matter what. She always forgave him no matter how badly he fucked up. She always waited for him with open arms.

But, of course… he fucked that up too. He killed her, little by little, piece by piece until there was nothing left for her to give.

Even then, he still stayed with her… knowing he would never deserve her.

He used her, like a useless pawn in a game of chess.

Finally, she left him… leaving only memories, a shattered heart and a hotel behind.

He never saw this coming. He took her for granted. He thought she'd always be there.

Now he's standing on the ledge of the very object he traded her love for, about to take away the pain. To make things better for everyone.

Who would've thought you could be standing at the top of the world, with nothing left?

His final words were screamed out to the world through his near blinding tears, "I'M SORRY!".

His final thoughts were kept a quiet plea for forgiveness from her "I never meant to hurt you, I love you Blair. Always have, always will. I'm so sorry for everything".

He then leant forward, and found out what it felt like to fly. He saw her face one last time and felt happiness. The pain could finally end.
