Disclaimer: I do not own Degrassi. duh~

I know this is a short chapter, it isn't summer for me yet. I think it might go somewhere though. I'll try to update every Wednesday.

Chapter 1

I opened my eyes and a girl with a white mask sat in front of me.

"You're too late," she whispered.

She turned around and the mask fell off her face.

I jolted out of my bed at the sound of my alarm clock. It was the last first day of high school I'd ever have, and I sure as hell wouldn't miss it. I stomped my way to the bathroom and looked at my flushed face in the mirror for what seemed to be a long time.

My eyes were too troubled to close again.

"Eli, please tell me you're awake," Cece called from downstairs.

I shook my head and splashed some ice cold water on my face to get a better glimpse of reality. I opened and closed every drawer in the diminutive room and finally got a hold of my yellow bic lighter.

1 spark.

2 sparks.

Fire.

The warning sign clearly told me to not leave the flame on for more than 30 seconds, but the pain of the heat that came after was too delightful.

My thumb became sore and my fingernail tips turned black. I let go before the fire alarm could go off.

"Next time, just burn the whole house down," one of them proposed. I jumped and the lighter fell in the sink. Fuck.

It was the teenager. It was the girl with black hair and brown green eyes. She had followed me for 13 years. And she was dead.

She wasn't the only one.

"For god's sake Eli, you haven't killed in months," she said. "I'm getting beyond bored. I'm thinking maybe that arrogant bitch at your school, what's her name again? That one you have a crush on?"

She giggled and I blushed. Just leave me alone, I thought.

She frowned and I felt her disappear.

"Eli you're going to be late for school," Bullfrog said as he pounded on the door.

He made his way into the closet sized room and pointed at his watch. "It's 7:46. We're leaving at 8."

I didn't answer him.

I don't answer anyone.

In fact, I never have.
