If she really thought about it, Drizella knew how ridiculous it was; always doing everything and anything her mother wanted her to do. She disagreed with some of her mother's decisions, hell she disagreed with most of them – like killing that innocent fairy or torturing and killing a innocent man just because he helped Cinderella.
And yet there she was, standing in front of him, not even knowing his name and all ready to torture information out of him. It broke her heart – the way he seemed so certain she wasn't evil, even though she was a mere stranger to him. "You seem a lot nicer than she is," were the exact words he used. She only responded with a simple shake of her head and mumbled words. "I'm not."
After all, she had her role to play; the wicked step-sister, one that she had gotten really good at pretending she really was.
For a second though, she let herself think – imagine what it would be like if they met under different circumstances; if he wasn't sitting there, ready to sacrifice his own life for her step-sister.
And in that moment Drizella found herself truly and deeply hating Cinderella. Not because of anything that happened with Anastasia, not even because her mother payed more attention to her, but because she didn't even try and everyone seemed to like her better (always making assumptions of how wicked Drizella was – hell, even the stupid prince choose Cinderella over herself).
The brunette didn't even have time to think about her new-found feelings for her step-sister when a portal opened up behind her, a woman knocking her out with a wave of her hand.
He was already gone when she woke up, her mother standing by her side telling her just how big of a disappointment she had proven to be - letting him escape like that. And yet instead of being bitter about failing, Drizella felt happiness - glad she didn't have to do anything to him. She would deny it if anyone accused her of it, but in that moment she found herself hoping to run into him again.
And she had no idea just what plans the future held for them.
a/n: this is super short and probably sucks but yeah...
