I'll Join You Soon
Naruto entered the classroom just as the bell rang.
"Take a seat Naruto," said an exasperated Iruka.
Naruto complied and looked up at his seat, being it was next to that 'Fucking Uchiha', as Naruto put it, it was a very desired place. Naruto had been asked at least once by every girl in the class to change seats. He refused every time. He even refused Sakura, even ramen! He did it because… he had a secret… he hadn't even told Irkua-sensei.
Later that day
Behind school
Sasuke's POV
I had finally escaped the mob of fan girls that had been chasing me for over an hour, just to run into one Uzumaki Naruto. We were rivals, but today he didn't seem to notice me at all.
I stared at his back, compelled to come up behind him and scare him. But something stopped me. Blood.
He was… crying and his hands were bleeding. At first I thought he was crying because of his hands. 'Dobe,' I thought as I went up behind him. A step or two away I heard him saying something.
" I can't tell him… He would never accept my love. I'm too weak. If I can only get this far before I bleed, I'm too weak."
Present"Naruto you're not too weak. I'm the weak one. I can't protect you now. Naruto I loved you, no I love you and I always will," Sasuke said remembering the incident all those years ago when Naruto had accidentally admitted his love. He smiled, a genuine smile. He smiled through the pain of being stabbed in his stomach. Itachi had stabbed him long before Naruto had come. 'Ha, Itachi.' He thought. Itachi was now in about a thousand different ripped apart pieces. That had been Naruto's doing. "You did what I was always too weak to do…" Sasuke suddenly stopped talking, his eyes starting to glaze over.
"Sasuke?" The crying shinobi asked. He pulled his dying lover closer until he was able to rest his chin on Sasuke's head.
Sakura and Sai walked up behind them, gawking at the scene before them.
"He's gone Naruto," Sai said.
"I know."
"Come on Naruto, let him go. You need to," Sakura said, crying as well. She had no idea how close they had been. She thought they had only been teammates, friends, but they had been much closer. They had loved each other.
"In a little while. Go on ahead, I'll join you soon."
"Alright," they agreed and then departed.
"I'll join you soon, Sasuke," Naruto whispered, holding a kunai to his heart, "not them," he finished. He held the kunai away. "Goodbye, Sai, Sakura," he said, thrusting the kunai forward.
