You walk down the hallway, laughing along with your bestfriends. Lacy and Rita. They act as if they are stuck to your side like glue. You tell yet another joke as they bust out laughing. Rita is the first to stop and move away. Lacy and you glance towards her questioningly.

" I have to go to practice." Lacy explains. Lacy is your more popular friend. By practice she means one of the many sports she plays. It's what makes her so popular. You've been friends for years, so you know she'd never betray you. She only does what she does because of Rita.

Lacy and Rita aren't the best of friends, but they co-exist because of you. Lacy, the popular one. And Rita, your typical average person. It sounds mean, but she doesn't like anything to physical like a sport, or mental like chess. She's just kind of, normal. You? You sit somewhere comfortably in the middle.

" See ya Lace." You say waving as you walk away, Rita standing really close. You move down the hall in a hurry.

" What are you doing? It's the last week of school. The teachers always go easy on you." Rita says right on your heels. She acts like a dog sometimes. So does Lacy's perfect boyfriend, but we don't say anything.

" Yeah, but I'm going to gym class..." You leave it at that smiling as Rita relizes what you're talking about.

" Oooo hottie Mr. Baldoni." She grins widely.

" Yup." And with that you get to class.

The next few weeks go by in a blink. Prom and Graduation were fun, but over quickly. You went with one of your best guy friends, Todd. You never had any real attraction to him, but you've always thought he was funny and kind of cute. Slowly he grows on you and you start to like him a bit. With Lacy's help (and a bit of forcing) you start going out.

Your parents want you to start working if you're planning on going to college, and you are. So you go to different places looking for work. One particular place catches you're eye. A cafe that runs late at night. It's good for a busy city such as Chicago.

A week later you get a phone call saying you got the job at Late Night 're excited as you get to work the next day. Or night rather. As you finish up, and say goodbye to your boss you rush out the door eager to get some sleep.

While walking to your car you start to hear odd noises. Then a scream from far away. You start to hurry forward towards your car. You make sure you walk under every street lamp you can find. Once your car is in sight you hear someone clearing their voice to your right. You glance in their direction assuming its a homeless person.

You stand there shocked at this boy- man. This man fascinates you. He leans against the fence, hands in his comfy looking jeans. His dark jacket covers most of his shirt. The shadows cover most of his face. But you can see his longish dark blonde hair that is slicked up and back in the front, and the rest is stylishly messy. A pair of deep-set bright blue eyes look up at you. I suddenly feel frozen as you decide what to do.

What will you do?

1. Run!

2. Smile and wave

3. Muster up some courage and talk to him

4. Other?
