Prologue
"Warning, warning coffin power failure."
"Switching to reserve power... Failure."
"Alerting nearby personnel, please manually switch the coffin to reserve power."
"Scanning master candidate number 49 vitals... green."
"Releasing master candidate number 49 from cryostorage... success."
Cold, I could feel cold air blowing against my skin.
"Opening coffin hatch... Failure."
I hear something close by. It sounded like a message only the voice was more machine than human.
"To repeat nearby personnel please manually switch to."
The electronic voice suddenly cut off mid speech as my eyes was slowly opening and adjusting to the poor lighting.
"Ah." I let out a small groan as a piercing headache assaulted me. How long have I been sleeping for?
While still groggy and unsteady I checked my surroundings. In front of me was some kind of transparent glass that acted as a barrier between me and the outside world.
It would appear that I was trapped in some kind of contraption but why and how?
"Ah." The headache returned for a brief moment as I tried to recall my past memories.
Why was I in this place to begin with? What happened after my battle with Angelica? Did I succeed in my oath? All of these questions just served to make the situation worse as my brain was being overloaded.
"Hah..." Going through the steps of Kyudo I cleared my mind from all unnecessary thoughts and focused on the most important matter at hand.
"Miyu..." As soon as I thought of my little sister an image appeared in my mind, an image of me facing against the mightiest sword in existence with my inheritance the Thompson contender and my own original creation.
"I see so your safe Miyu." I knew that I achieved my goal in that last battle against her, but that just added more questions to the mix.
"Did the Ainsworths take me prisoner after the battle? If so why would they heal me after all I've done." I should have been near death from the backlash of my injuries, my own weapon and getting blasted by a vortex of red death that crushed everything in its path including reality itself.
It may have been wielded by a counterfeit and interrupted in the middle but by all rights I should be dead.
"...Unless I was saved by someone else." Still this doesn't make sense why couldn't I remember anything past the battle then.
Surely at the very least I would have awakened at some point... Unless this was my first awakening? No I couldn't deny the possibility of someone tampering with my memories through magecraft.
In that case. "Trace on." I surged my prana throughout my body. If my guess was correct I should be able to regain my lost memory and remove any magical influences.
...Nothing my prana harmlessly completed a circuit throughout my body without any resistance. Just to make sure I repeated this process many times over with the same results.
Then was my earlier hypothesis correct? For a brief moment I strained my brain to it's fullest attempting to answer the questions with my limited information.
...No matter, answers could wait for now. My first priority is to escape this contraption and figure out the current situation I'm in.
Taking a deep breath I cleared my mind before conjuring an image of a gun cocking and firing.
"Trace on." Reinforcing my body I smashed against the glass barrier with all my strength, shattering it into many tiny pieces that cascaded across the room.
Stepping out of the contraption I was blasted with warm air, a slight welcome to the freezing temperatures of the contraption.
"Emergency alert fires have broken out in the central power plant and central control room. The central bulkhead will close in 240 seconds. All personnel please evacuate from gate two immediately."
"..." The current situation was worse than I expected, but at least I would go relatively unnoticed amongst the chaos but first...
I scanned the room I was in with a trained eye. It appeared to be a rather spacious apartment room equipped with basic amenities, a television screen was set up across the room, a bed in the middle, cupboards along with a fern and coffee machine.
However that was it, there was no signs of any obvious bugs both electrical or magical that might be monitoring me. Still it was best to play it safe and keep my magecraft to a minimum if possible, as magi as a whole disdains modern technology.
"To repeat, fires have broken out in the central power plant and central control room."
Judging from the earlier emergency announcement I didn't have much time to make my getaway but I wasn't exactly a normal person or magus, even if the building was to collapse I should still be able to make it out alive.
"Suspension of power output unit confirmed. Insufficient power generation."
However I shouldn't take any unnecessary risks. I should attempt to find an employee or inhabitant within the remaining time span rather than trying to find my Thompson contender and way out blindly.
"Unable to switch to reserve power. Personnel please manually switch to reserve. To repeat all remaining personnel please evacuate from gate two." immediately.
I dashed towards the cupboards opening the nearby drawers in a hurry.
"..." I found clothes that must have belonged to this room's previous inhabitant but they were the same as my current clothing. Which either meant that this was prisoner's clothing or I wasn't a prisoner to begin with.
"Central bulkhead will close in 180 seconds."
Damn this was no time to be dallying around, I only had 3 minutes left according to the announcement. I might have more if this wasn't the central location but I couldn't take that risk.
Leaving the room behind in a hurry I sprinted in the empty dark corridors. Making sure I kept within the limits of humanity I searched the area for any signs of life or hints that might lead me towards an emergency fire door or gate two.
"What the hell happened here!" Trusting my instincts I moved forward only to stumble across a grisly scene that I was all too familiar with.
In front of me was a burnt landscape that could only be described as an act of terrorism. Giant shards of broken materials stuck out like stone pillars while fire burned brightly amongst the rubble, along with some kind of viscous fluid staining the floor.
Yet amongst all this destruction the middle remained relatively intact, a giant spherical object that resembled an atom floated in the middle of the air.
"What is that?" For a second I paused to examine the area, only to continue moving once I heard a desperate voice screaming in the distance.
"MASH!"
I finally found someone in this dark place, there's no way I'm going to lose him. Kicking off the ground with renewed vigour I sprinted towards the sound of the voice with near superhuman speeds.
"MASH WHERE ARE YOU!"
I climbed the pile of rubble with relative ease, I must be getting closer to the person as I could hear the increase in volume.
"What the..." I stumbled across a series of contraptions littered across the area during my chase, contraptions similar to my own that I was just in.
"Rayshift system transferring to final stage."
"Coordinates: January 30th, 2004 CE. Fuyuki, Japan."
"MASH IF YOU COULD HEAR ME PLEASE SAY SOMETHING."
I stopped briefly to examine the contraptions, the outer frame seemed intact but the glass barrier was filled with numerous cracks. More importantly however was the unconscious people stuck inside.
"Laplace conversion protection in place."
"Additional factor frame towards the singularity secured."
"Unsummon program set."
"Masters please enter the final adjustments."
My hypothesis from earlier seemed more and more likely as I examined the contraptions. The voice would have to wait I couldn't leave these people alone in this condition.
"Trace on." Touching the pillars of rubble littered across the area, I forced my prana into them altering them into a makeshift elevated platform, high enough to avoid the flames and the fluids but not too high so that it wouldn't be accessible by medical personnel.
"Visualise it." I formed an image of a set of clothes, a white long sleeved shirt with horizontal black bars, a black belt and black pants.
Not yet I needed to alter the form into something more suitable. In a flash of light multiple pieces of clothes tied together materialised on top of the elevated platform.
Using the tied pieces of clothes, I created a long thin makeshift blanket that covered a decent sized area on top of the platform.
Taking a step back I examined my handiwork, it wasn't pretty but it was doable and within the realm for reason, so personnel shouldn't suspect anything out of the ordinary.
"Now here comes the hard part." My hand tightening into a fist as I resolved myself for what was to come.
I knew I wasn't going to be able to save them all if any, but if possible at the very least I want to ease their pain and hopefully extend their lifespan until medical help arrives.
I rushed towards the closest contraption and peered inside. Judging from his appearance I could tell he was in critical condition and needed medical help before it was too late.
"Warning to observation staff. Chaldea's conditions has changed."
"Shiva near future observational data will be overwritten."
"The survival of the human race on earth for the next 100 years cannot be confirmed."
"The future of humanity cannot be guaranteed."
Carefully dismantling the glass barrier, I removed the injured person and laid him on top of the makeshift blanket. I quickly checked his pulse and airways to make sure he was still alive and breathing.
He was still breathing and his pulse seemed to fine which was a small sign of relief, but he was still covered in small cuts and gashes from flying debris and shards of glass.
"Central bulkhead will now be sealed."
"Ha..." I gritted my teeth, I didn't have the proper equipment nor knowledge on how to treat a patient but here goes.
Materialising a pair of tweezers I quickly removed some of the visible pieces of debris that was lodged within his skin with reinforced eyes.
Blood seeped out of the open wounds but I didn't have any water to cleanse them with, nor did I trust the fluids covering the floor.
"Commencing interior cleansing in 90 seconds."
Opening my mouth I drooled saliva onto the wounds, I vaguely recall that licking a wound would help it heal faster so this should work as a substitute.
"Trace on." I materialised a sharp needle along with thread, trusting in my minds eye I sutured the patient with the precision of a master archer.
"Seeking qualified masters... Seeking."
I didn't know how well I did but it seems fine as I finished my first suture. I quickly removed another piece and repeated the previous operation time was of the essence.
"Resetting contact with suitable designee number 48 and 49."
"Hah..." I wiped the sweat off my brow I finally finished the operation. He should be stabilised long enough for help to arrive, now onto the others.
"Starting unsummon program."
"...Trace on." I paused in my tracks, I didn't know why but I felt like something was going to happen soon. Forming an image of his favoured blades I prepared myself to project them at any given moment.
"Beginning Spiritron conversion."
Then all went dark.
"Rayshift beginning in 3... 2... 1."
"All operations cleared. Beginning first order verification."
Author notes
Lazy bad author that only writes first drafts.
I just watched the fate grand order movie last order so I decided to write a story based on it. Since I don't have the game fate grand order most likely this would end with the first singularity but who knows?
A reminder I don't know much about fate grand order aside from random mumble jumbo and the movie.
This Shirou is my own modified version see Another miracle as that was my first story and the basis. To avoid confusion Shirou is no longer walking the path of a hero but rather his own path of justice, basically a more selfish version. Family first, friend etc
I got no clue about basic first aid aside from common knowledge, which is cpr, cleaning wounds, bandaging, making sure the site is clear of obstructions stuff like that.
