Ship Till You Drop (Percy/Penelope)
-oOo-
He never thought it would have happened to them. After all, what were they to this 'monster' if it ever was such? Why, out of all the students in that school it chose her was something he'd been asking himself over and over and over… and over again. But it had and there was no denying it.
She was petrified on that bed. Her Ravenclaw tie crocked, blonde hair flat against the pillow. A look of shock was plastered on her face. The more Percy looked at her, the more he wanted nothing more but for Penelope to just wake up.
Percy repositioned himself in his chair, catching sight of Hermione, petrified as well a bed down. He looked away though. He didn't know his youngest brother's friend all that well, but the little Gryffindor girl had been found right next to his girlfriend.
His girlfriend.
Percy took Penelope's still hand, rubbing his thumb along her wrist. His girlfriend, petrified on a bed. His girlfriend, frozen for God knew how long. His girlfriend, hurt because he hadn't been there. Percy would have given anything for her to wake. He'd willingly take her place if it meant she'd move. If she'd just squeeze his hand.
He sighed, and part of him hoped that she would take his exhale and breathe herself. But she didn't. Penelope didn't move.
When the Mandrake potions were given, Percy made sure to be there. He was the first thing she saw when she was able to see again. And she smiled. Reaching a hand out, she took his and squeezed it tight.
And she didn't let go. Not for quite a long time.
