The Doctor poked his head in Hero's room. Hero, his oldest daughter, Don, Jon, John, Coral, and Fred, along with pregnant Rose and Romana. Hayley his youngest companion to date, future Black Guardian. They where listening to her tell a story that her people have past down from generation to generation.
The story of the beginning of the universe. He smiled and leaned on the door as he listen and was taken away.
"In the beginning there where only ten beings, Kornus, Corzon, his four siblings, God, Satan, Hel, and Heven.
"Kornus created the universe, brought his five children, two grandchildren, and their wives.
"He looked around and thought the universe was trash, the place he had come from was a paradise. So he decided to start anew. He wanted to destroy the universe. His children didn't like that. So you know what they did? They fought back.
"One was the historian, he alone survived, he alone told the story. The other four died, died to save the universe."
Hero interrupted "But who where they?" "We don't know. Corzon never told us, all he said was. 'One the Lord of Time, One the beginner of Life Stopper of Death, One the Space keeper, and One the Queen of them all.'" Hayley said. "They in my culture are called the Absentees." "Why?" Don asked. "Because they have only been seen once in the past thirteen billion years. And only one of them. Now shush.
"Now I have a question. Is the universe alive?" "No." Romana said. "Wrong here's why. When they where protecting the universe they decided to save the universe by making the universe come alive. To do this they did a ritual, but doing it caused their lives. But what they also did was make the universe as it is. 'One the Space keeper' created the plants, stars, every atom in the universe. 'One the beginner of Life Stopper of Death' created or laid the building blocks of life. 'One the Lord of Time' created time lines. And finally 'One the Queen of them all' banded it all.
"The power to do this killed them. But 'One the beginner of Life Stopper of Death' and 'One the Queen of them all' had a back up plan.
"They knew their father would live, since the one rule of Guardians then was to never take a life. Which is why they turned the universe to a living thing.
"And they thought he would try to destroy, or someone would. So they built what is called. 'End of Times Protectors' when they would come back.
"When the universe is threatened they would come back. To save us all. It hasn't happened yet but it will happen soon. Since one of them has been seen just fifteen years ago, in your fathers life time.
"We're running out of time." Hayley said as she stood up. "Because even I can feel it, a Time Guardian, and Time Lords and Ladies, and Gallifreyans, running out of time. Ironic isn't it?" Hayley chuckled as she walked out of the room to her bedroom.
The fifteen year old girl walked right past him, and he heard Rose and Romana get the kids to bed.
Rose walked out, The Doctor walked near her and put his hands around her pregnant stomach. "Do you think that myth is true?" "Knowing Hayley who knows? It could be, remember the plant with the Beast?" He said to her.
Her arms wrapping around his and his head resting on her shoulder. "Could it, and if what she said is true to us running out of time?" She inquired him. "I'm not going to lie to you Rose, she has a 99.99999999999999% chance of being right."
Rose turned around and hugged him. "Do you think we'll survive?" "I'll make sure we do. Nobody is going to take you from me. Not again. Never again." The Doctor said hugging her tight to him.
