Prompt: Tears; A photo from Photobucket labeled Cry.
Author's Note: I'd notice the lack of Phoenix X Mia presence on the internet. Hopefully, this drabble will slap a reminder that there's something deeper between them than meets the normal eyes.
What he saw near the window broke him to pieces. Phoenix Wright couldn't handle it at once.
He ran up and embraced her, so tight he's afraid she's going to leave abruptly.
His hunch told him she was really real, she wasn't summoned by Maya Fey.
Her hair was brown, and she wore her office clothes. The very image he had kept in his mind.
Phoenix sobbed in her chest. All those bottled feelings of regret, sadness, pain released all at once.
She held him gently, and rubbed his back. She spoke, comforting the man.
She was completely fine getting tears and snot from him. She focused on the man hugging him.
She reassured she wouldn't leave him anymore. She reminded him that today was the day they'll meet again.
He nodded, remembering those words well. All these years, he thought that wouldn't happen.
It happened now, and he was so, so grateful. He was so, so happy he was able to see her again.
The fall, the rise, the accident, the fall, the rise, the resolve. All to live to mirror her image.
She was now here to witness how much he'd grown. How he managed to pass down her words of wisdom to his own students.
After the endless sobs, his heart was now at ease. The tears had stopped rolling down on his cheek.
Phoenix looked up at her and cracked a small, genuine smile. His eyes sparkled from intense happiness, opposite of what he had experienced earlier.
His voice was cracked and hoarse. "Welcome back, Mia..."
Mia smiled back, holding him closer. "I told you, we'll meet one day."
