I Should Run Shouldn't I? (A Final Fantasy XIII tale)

"Lightning, what are you doing?" Snow asked suspiciously. The group of l'Cie was traveling through the great plains of Gran Pulse. They had made it far and were taking a short break by a lake.

Lightning jumped and turned around. In her arms was one of the sheep that lived on Gran Pulse. The white fluffy animal squirmed in her grip. "Uh…" Lightning said.

"Why are you holding a sheep, Light?" Hope asked.

"Um…"

"Was it bothering you?" Vannille asked innocently.

"No."

"Then what's with the sheep?" Fang demanded.

"…"

"Come on Lightning, out with it," Sazh said irritably. The Chocobo Chick chirped in agreement.

Before Lightning could answer, Snow burst out laughing. "What's so funny?" Lightning demanded.

"I just realized," Snow said, still laughing, "what Serah meant when she called you a sheep-lover." He continued to laugh as he fell to the ground, tears streaming from his eyes.

"She said what?" Lightning said turning bright pink.

"Oh wow, Lightning, I never would have guessed you loved sheep," Vannille said happily.

"That's definitely a shocker," Fang laughed.

"I never thought that you would be the animal lover type," Hope said with a shrug.

"Guess we learn something new every day," Sazh sighed.

As her friends discussed the newly discovered side of her, Lightning set the sheep gently on the ground and pulled out her sword. The sheep squeaked when it saw the sword and ran for dear life. The other l'Cie stopped talking and watched as Lightning walked over to Snow who was still laughing. The look on her face was more frightening than anything the small group had faced yet.

Snow finally calmed down and looked up at Lightning. If looks could kill, he would be six feet under. Fortunately for him, they didn't. Swords did.

"Um, I should run now shouldn't I?" Snow asked.

"Oh, big time," Lightning hissed.

That day, several monsters looked up from whatever it is that monsters do as they heard a scream. They watched silently as a human woman chased a human man across the entire field, brandishing a metal weapon. They heard another woman yell after them, "Don't kill your future brother-in-law yet. You don't want your sister to cry when she wakes up and finds her fiancé dead."
