No God

Disclaimer: Ah. Not mine. Honest.

A/N: I've never written in first-person POV before. Tried it. Not really sure I like it but there. It's a letter, really.

Sephiroth.

If godliness was determined by power you had it. If by beauty or cunning then the title was yours.

SOLDIER would've worshipped you as God. I would have. Many in the civilian world would've joined us.

With all of Hojo's work I would not have been surprised if you'd turned out to be immortal. A God forever.

I tried to serve you. Tried to make you my God. But I could not.

Could not.

I trusted you and you betrayed me. I cared for you and you cast me aside. You displayed your cruelty, indifference, vindictiveness, and destruction.

You didn't understand.

It was your own foolishness that wrought your downfall, your own weakness and failure. An all-powerful God has no need of cruelty, he is secure enough for mercy. No need for vindictiveness, he is large enough for forgiveness. No need for destruction as he holds the power to create. God holds trust, strengthens it, not breaks it. He does not cast aside his loyal.

He is strong enough in himself to not worry about such things.

You were not.

Sephiroth you had the potential to be a god but you did not fulfill it. Do not blame me for your lack of godhood.

I would've served you. If you had only let me.

This is why you are no God. At least not mine. But you had your chance.
