The song I Won't Let Go inspired the idea for these fics. This is going to be a series of one shots with the different Avengers comforting one another. I have so many ships in this fandom but this fic is simply about frienship and comfort.
"Tasha..." he murmured softly as he held the woman that was sobbing in his arms. He hated that Loki had somehow gotten in her head and had reduced her to this. Clint looked down at Tasha and simply held her as she trembled and he knew she was reliving every innocent life she had taken, every life that she had shortened and robbed of their futures and potential. He knew she always carried the memories of those she killed with her but she never let it show or overtake her. She was strong enough to work through her emotions and put aside her troubles so she could move on to the next mission. The Black Widow was always strong enough to ignore the memories, to push it into a far back corner of her mind in hopes of being forgotten as she worked to redeem and cleanse herself of her past sins. It seemed though, something that Loki had said had completely broken every defense Tasha had against her painful and blood stained past and it merely made Clint's hate for the Asgardian grow.
The woman gave a choked cry, the sound something that could only be described as heartbreaking. He held her close as he did his best to comfort her but there was only so much he could do. He was a man that had been trained to kill, comforting a crying woman wasn't something that was in Hawkeye's job description and it definitely wasn't one of his strong points. But this was Tasha. He would always do what he could for her, even if it meant doing something contrary to his usual nature. He knew that most people, when comforting someone, would murmur things such as "it's okay" or "it'll get better" but he would never say things like that. Why lie? They were both people who were honest and realistic. They both knew that things would only be okay or get better for so long.
Hope y'all liked it. Review :3
