He told me he loved me. One day he just walked up to me in the halls, pulled me aside, and said it. Those words ruined everything.
We had been shagging for a few months now. No strings attached of course, so obviously I couldn't believe him, how could I? He's a Gryffindor, too trustworthy, too caring. I thought it was just a phase, never should have got involved.
The whole school is in mourning over him, stupid blighters, they don't even know why he did it. They just thought it was the stress, the weight of the wizarding world on his shoulders. I know the truth though, just me, I knew as soon as I heard.
They found him in the Gryffindor showers, slumped against the wall, glasses skewed, blood pooling into the drain next to him. A note clutched in his hand, soaked in blood and illegible.
I did it. I may have not killed him directly but it was me nonetheless, my fault. I told him he was delusional, no one could fall in love with me, how could anyone care about a pale, blonde, scrawny, Slytherin? Besides who would think I had the capacity to love them back, so why in Merlin's name did the Golden Boy himself fall for me.
Even when they find my pale body splattered with my own blood, they won't think I am going to be with Harry. The won't think I went so he can have his arrogant blonde back or so we can be together forever, so we can finally be at peace. That doesn't matter, I'm going anyway.
Professor Dumbledore sat at his desk, happy twinkle missing from the steady gaze aimed at the two blood soaked notes in his hand; he had told everyone that they were ruined, that they couldn't be read. He had lied, for both simply said, 'I love him'.
