There weren't many cliffs around camp, so the sea was a Plan B.
The sea…
He had been gone for quite a while and it hurt to think of him at first. After a while the pain grew quieter, but it was still there. Always there. To not think of him was a thought to cause laughter. Everything around her reminded her of him. Doing what she was about to wouldn't solve anything, but it would do something different. Make something change. At least it would accomplish that. Hopefully it wouldn't hurt though.
Hopefully.

The beach was empty surprisingly. The night was not as bright as usual and the sea not a menacing. She walked to the immense mass shivering even though the air was not cold. As she approached, the small waves reached farther of the shore as if to greet her. As if he—she banished the thought from her mind. With each breath—inhale, exhale, inhale, exhale—she took a step farther in, farther in. Her eyes were closed and her hair whipped around her face with a unfelt wind. Step, step, step, step, step, then—
She didn't realize it immediately, but after she was completely submerged, she realized that she didn't mind—in fact, she welcomed it. If anything, however, being surrounded by the cold water felt inviting, warm. The girl knew that eventually her body would begin to float, but until then she would keep falling…falling…falling into the water.

It had been too long she realized. She kept falling lower and lower, but she didn't understand why! Air was getting short, her airways constricted, her lungs yearned for air but there was only water, water, water, and more water! She hadn't planned on this, this was not supposed to happen! Help, she needed. Someone, she needed. Help, someone, help, someone, help…

A laugh. There was a laugh, clear, confident, boyish; a laugh that rand in her ears as her mind drifted away. Two arms—strong, but not rough—gentle and warm embraced her body, pulling her up, up, up, up, up!
The night's cool voice greeted her lungs cheered with the rush of air, and her eyes opened. Her savior she could not yet see, but she would soon when they reached shore.
The sand came within second. The girl was laid upon the earth breathless with relief. She looked around for her savior, but they were nowhere to be found until
"I thought you were the smartest girl in the Athena cabin, Wise Girl!" he said. She looked up and saw him. Him staring down and her with his mop of dark hair and sea green eyes of him. He smiled and kissed her suddenly, but still gently and sweetly. Again she was out of breath and falling, falling, falling in love.
Hey look! It's a re-write! MUCH better in my opinion. I know most everyone was thrown on a loop about the wings thing, but in my defense, I was going through A Maximum Ride phase. That book had my entire heart and soul and when that happens, it sinks into my writing. Sorry about that. This one makes more sense though.
Oh, and Percy was just haning with his dad UNDER DA' SEA. I didn't want to add that in, I liked ending with the kiss. JUST N CASE YOU GUYS WERE WONDERING WHERE PERCY WAS.
He didn't tell anyone because he's a meany, and he's going to go hang out with his dad some more after hanging with Annabeth
