Don't own it.

So, this one-shot has been floating around my room for a while. I wrote it down a while ago and I just now got it typed. Hope you like!

There's a shadow outside Victoire's window, the dark shape of a large canine silhouetted against the full moon. She lies in bed and watches as he paces back and forth, the layer of glass between them making his fur appear to ripple. She sits up, and he pauses, titling his head, then resumes his movements, tail moving agitatedly.

She slips out of bed and creeps to the window, putting her hand against the glass. He pauses again, turning to look at her, and she reaches for the latch, pulling the window open.

Her parents would die if they knew she was doing this. Even partial werewolves like her father are dangerous during full moon, and Victoire know for a fac that the wolf outside doesn't take wolfsbane potion. He could easily kill her.

She slithers out the window to sit on the sill, and brushes her fingers through the wolf's thick, dark fur. He won't hurt her; she knows it in her heart. Teddy would never hurt her.

Her father has told her stories of Remus Lupin, the werewolf who was Teddy's father. He couldn't control the wolf without wolfsbane, and people fear that Teddy is the same way. But Teddy is a wolf born; he has never had trouble staying in control.

The wolf leans his head into Victoire's caressing hand, and she smiles.

"Hey, Teddy."

He grumbles deep in his throat and licks her fingers, and she giggles and scoots off the sill to sit on the hard ground beside him. He nuzzles her face with his nose and she kisses the top of his head, wrapping her arms around him and burying her face in his ruff.

When Victoire's wakes, it's to find herself still sitting on the ground outside her room, but it's no longer a wolf she holds in her arms.

Teddy's skin is pale and shining with sweat, and his natural-dark hair is damp and curling. He's wearing jeans, faded and torn, but that's all the clothing he has. He's leaning against the wall behind them, head tilted back, and Vic is snuggled against his chest with her head on his shoulder .

She wonders how he became human without her noticing, and watches him as he stirs, rolling his shoulders beneath her head. His eyelids flicker, but he doesn't wake, and she smiles, closing her eyes and letting herself drift back off to sleep as the first ray of dawn pierces the indigo sky above.
