Connie P.O.V.
After a late night of binge-watching camp pining hearts together at his house, Steven and I fall asleep. I awake an hour later to find him still asleep next to me, with the T.V. at low volume and slightly illuminating the room. I look around, noticing how neat he keeps his room. Huh. I sigh, and pivot my head to look at him. He is sitting in a position where his shirt rides up and his gem is showing. I stare at it for a second. I've... never really looked at it before now. I mean, I've seen it, but I hadn't really thought about it. You know. I look away. Like, I never really noticed how the five facets reflect light differently. I wonder what it feels like to have a gem. I wonder a lot of things. The fact that I'm thinking about this is kind of creepy. I stare at it again. I wonder...
"Connie?" Steven asks. It's kind of hushed, like he can sense my distress. I look up, slightly shocked. "H-hey," He sits up. "Sorry..." I say. "Hey, don't be. It's fine. But why were you staring at my gem?" I shiver. "I was wondering things. Whats it like to have a gemstone embedded in your bellybutton?" He chuckles. "Like how does it feel physically?" he asks. I nod. He touches his gem. "Well... It feels normal for me, I guess, but... I can feel it when I touch it, weirdly, and it kind of tickles." I blink. "Wow... Is it smooth?" He blushes slightly. "Another weird question, I see. Yes, yes it is." He looks at me with interest. "Why do you want to know all of these things, anyway?" I sigh. "I never asked because it's weird, but I wanted to know eventually." He places his hand on mine. "Don't feel so awkward. I understand."
I look back over at him, probably blushing a deep red. He is blushing, too, but it is a rose pink. I take a risk. "C-Can I touch your gem?" He blushes even more. "Sure," he breathes. He lifts his shirt slightly to reveal a sparkling pink gem. I run my fingers along it's surface. It doesn't feel like a normal geode, as it shouldn't. He is blushing hard now, I can tell it feels weird. "It's... It's never felt like this before..." I pause. "Is that a good thing?" "Yeah... It feels... good." I move my hand away from his gem and I slide my hand into his his hand. He puts his hand on my waist. We stay there for a second, our faces expressionless. then I put my hand on his cheek and I lean into him. When we pull away from each other, he stares at me with stars in his eyes.
"Connie," he breathes.
