Aranea Serket read her book as she waited for the teacher to come in. She sat near the window, where she would get sunlight for her book. The other students were causing a ruckus, she didn't care as long as they didn't bother her. The wildness, and loudness in the classroom never bother her. In her middle school years, she learned to ignore it.
She read and turned the page, that was when someone came to her. Aranea did not think anything of it, so she ignored the person. That was until the person made a grunted sound. Whoever was there, came into her reading light. She looked up to see one of the jocks looking down at her,
"May I help you?"She replied.
"Yeah, why you always reading, someone as hot as you, don't need no books, especially when you got looks." He smirked at her, feeling proud of that unnecessary ryhme.
Aranea felt annoyed, but tried to keep calm."As much as I'm flatter, looks won't get you good grades, or get you a job."
The jock raised an eyebrow, he snatched the book out of her hand,"What are you even reading?"
He looked at the cover,"Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows? Isn't that shit for kids?"
"I'll have you know, that is a great book. Now may you please return my book!?"She waited for a response, yet she never got one. So she tried to snatch it out of the boy's hands.
"Too slow!"He placed it higher, and out of her reach. Aranea tried to reach it, but that was futile."Please unhand my book!"
Aranea was red with anger.
"Foo, you better give her book back." A voice in the doorway said. It was the infamous Meenah Piexes.
The jock looked behind him and saw the girl,"And why should I?"
"If you don't give it back, I'll kick your ass." Meenah retailed with.
He placed it higher above Aranea, she still couldn't reach for it.
"Bitch, you glubbin' asked for it." Meenah placed a fist in his face, and kicked him where the place don't shine.
There soon was a fight between the two, students began to surround them. The teacher came in,"Alrighty students, let's-...Meenah!Brandon!What is this!?" He looked in the scene in front of him. They were physically fighting, throwing punches and kicks at each other ."Break it!" he tried to pull the jock away, while Aranea pulled Meenah. The book on the ground was the least of their concerns.
"Principal!Both of you!"
Meenah looked irritated and walked out. The jock followed her, giving a wink to the rest of the students. Aranea picked up the book and looked at them as they left.
The teacher began to teach, until in the middle of the lesson, when the intercom spoke."May Miss Aranea Serket, please come to the office, immediately."
Aranea stood up and walked out of the classroom. She soon got there and the secretary pointed the principal's office.
She opened it,"I was told to come here?" there she saw Meenah, and Brandon sitting apart from each other.
"Miss Aranea, Meenah says you witnessed this fight?"
"Yes."
"Who started it?"
Aranea looked at him,"It was...Brandon. He started it.
"When you say that, he committed first hit?"
"Y-Yes."
Brandon looked at her,"She's lying!Stupid Peixes started it!"
The principal started writing,"I'm sorry, sir. Aranea has never lied to me before, so I must trust her judgement and her word."
He handed Brandon, a red slip,"You sir, will serve detention every Friday for the next eight weeks."
"What about her?!"
"She said she was using self-defense. I cannot punish her for that. Miss Aranea, and Miss Meenah may leave, I need to have a word with Brandon."
Aranea and Meenah left the office, and walked in the halls."Damn, gurl. I didn't think you were a liar!"
"You helped me, so I returned the favor."
"Dat's true. Best friends forever. Right?"
"Yes, Meenah."
