We had been together for a long time
Before the spark lit within me,
Burning and flickering deep in my chest,
Until a roaring flame lit my way
Against the darkness of the Void.
I ask myself when it started.
When the flame began to burn.
The flame of a passion that I was not aware of.
Not until it was too late.
You were gone.
Taken from me before I knew it.
Never to have another thought of me
While I was forced to bide my time.
To watch you live without me from afar.
I shall admit,
The flame wavered.
Against my will,
The roaring flame died away,
Your absence filling me with the cold of loneliness,
Despite the lights of friendship that surrounded me.
Their sparks of light were nothing compared to you.
Yet, even in the cold,
Your smile is everywhere I look.
Television.
Magazines.
Posters.
You are everywhere,
And yet you are without me.
You cannot be gone.
Such a thing shall not come to pass.
We will meet once more.
Your smile shall keep me warm,
And I shall warm you with my own.
The passion is alive within me,
As it will be within you, my love.
My flame of passion shall never waver,
Warding away the eternal cold of loneliness.
