Quil stood in Emily's kitchen waiting pacing from the fridge to the sink and back again. Emily kept trying to start a conversation but he was too anxious how long had they been gone? Two, three hours? They were only supposed to be taking a walk down to the beach why weren't they back yet?

Had she fallen, was something broken, was she… he stopped pacing then as his throat closed up and he couldn't breath, he stood clutching the bench, snapping off a bit of wood.

Sam growled quietly. Emily said something reassuring. Sam calmed down, but it didn't settle Quil.

"She's fine, Quil. They will take good care of her." Emily spoke quietly.

"How do you know?" Quil asked her angrily, "How do you know she's fine, how do you know they will treat her right? How do you know that Claire isn't in some hospital somewhere?"

He was shaking and he felt as if he couldn't breathe, like he was suffocating.

Then he heard it, his little angel with her tinkling laughter behind him.

"Silly Qwil," she said, giggling, "Claire not in hospitol, she wight…"

She didn't get to finished it as Quil had rushed over and picked her up into a hug.

Claire continued to giggle as she snuggled into Quil.

Quil glared over at Jared and Kim. They both looked anxious, Jared was rubbing the back of his neck and Kim was staring at her shoes.

"What took so long?" Quil tried to growl, but with such a parcel in his arms it was next to impossible.

Jared shrugged, "Ice cream,"

They didn't seem any calmer though and Quil, narrowing his eyes, pulled Claire back from his broad shoulders to inspect her.

Now he saw the sprinkles and ice cream smeared on her face, she grinned showing her perfect little teeth.

"Yeh, Qwil, we got yummy, yummy icecweam." She told him proudly.

He returned his gaze back to Jared and Kim, who tried to smile weakly, still apparently anxious.

He checked over the rest of Claire and found it. It was only a couple of small band aids strapped across her knees. Though it was still enough to make Quil heart skip a couple of beats and his throat to close up once again.

"What… happened?" he managed to choke out.

He was no longer looking at Kim but he knew she was still anxious by her nervous stutters.

"W-well, we were g-going to the beach and w-well she umm f-fell down a hill,"

Quil looked up in time to see her eyes dart to Jared and back, as if there was more to the story.

Claire giggled again and stated, "Yeh Qwil, it was fun, can Jared push me down it tomowow?"

Quil eyes flashed dangerously to Jared and he started shaking visibly.

Claire was soon saved by Sam, who saw what was coming next and Quil took the chance to tackle Jared outside the door, both phasing and Jared running of into the trees, with Quil close on his tail.

A/n I know this isn't the best fanfic, but it's what I like to call procrastination, something I pride myself to be very good at. I even convinced my dad that a DVD was for an English assignment, which it was, I just wasn't supposed to watch 3 more after that, lol, anyway I hope you at least enjoyed the idea of it, even if it wasn't the best. It is kind of making up for my other fanfic The darkened sun.

I promise I will write a better one when I get spare time, but at the moment im focusing on The Sapphire moon, which I am rewriting and another idea I have floating around, but I hope this was enjoyable and I promise when I get time I will fix it up.

xoxo
