Cole rolled his eyes, "Here we go again."

"Don't talk to her like that! She's too innocent for something so wrong!" Kai glared daggers at the blue ninja in front of him who was much more interested in the birds out the window.

"Chill out! I was just saying how pretty she was."

"She's too young for you!"

"Dude. She's, like, a year younger than me. Max."

"Well it's still not right!" The pyre ninja stormed out of the room and down the hall.

"This does not compute," Zane finally spoke after Kai had left, "Did Jay do something wrong?"

The ninja of Earth let a small, irritated sigh escape his throat, "No, Zane, Kai's just over reacting. Again."

"Maybe I should go talk to him," the lightning wielder suggested, "Y'know, so he doesn't break something."

"Good idea." And so, Jay followed where he believed Kai went, down to their sleeping quarters. The door was shut, and Jay was just about to open it, when he heard someone speak.

"How am I supposed to deal with this anymore? I can't take it!"

"Is that Kai?" A muffled sound could be heard, like someone screaming into a pillow. Then the voice continued.

"Why does he have to keep hitting on her?!"

"Seriously?! You're playing that card? Because unless you confess your undying love or something crazy like that-"

"Why can't he-" Kai quieted down quickly, "Why can't he hit on me?"

"-then I'm ju- wait what."

Kai sighed, "I just wish for once he'd say I look nice or ask me to go with him on the Ferris wheel...I doubt he even likes guys."

By this point, Jay's eyes were wide as he felt the excitement build up. Moments later, the wooden door was flung open and Kai was tackled to the floor.

"Jay?"

"Kai!"

The red ninja blushed slightly, "Could you get off now?"

"Maybe, if you go to the movies with me," the other male's face was a bit red as well.

"What? Why?"

"Because," the lightning wielder finally rose, offering a hand, "I heard you talking from out in the hall. Kai, I'm not hitting on your sister!"

"You're not?" he raised an eyebrow and took the hand.

"No! She's nice, but I'm not going to go out with her!"

"Why not?"

"Because I'm gay."

Kai just stood in shock, "Oh," was all he could say before a short silence followed by, "Then why do you keep saying how pretty she is and how she has nice clothes and stuff?"

"C'mon, we're best friends! What'd you expect us to do?"

The darker brunette smiled a bit after processing the information, "You two are such girls!"

The lighter chuckled, "Then maybe that makes you straight."

"Bi."

"Whatever."

"So...you said something about a movie?"

Jay smiled even brighter, "Captain Chronicles 2! The one with all the lasers and dynamite and pew pew pew!"

Kai curled his lips upward in amusement, "And maybe you can "pew" us some popcorn."

"I might be able to arrange something…"

Pfft. Well that was bland.
