Disclaimer: I do not own Jack, Anamaria, The Pearl, or any other part of POTC. I just own the movie novelization and some ticket stubs. And I don't own Keiko either. That little whirlwind belongs to my friends. I'm just borrowing her, savvy?
Dedication: To my friends, the Smith family, who FINALLY saw POTC. Yay! :)
And to Keiko: Luv, ye gotta quit walking to the ice cream shop savvy? ;)
A/N: Keiko is a small black Schnoodle.

"ANAMARIA!" Jack yelled. A small black puppy yelped and dashed under Jack's bed.
"Aye captain?" Anamaria asked, coming into the Captain's quarters. She grimaced when she saw what Jack was shouting about. Three bottles of rum lay on the floor, their contents spilled out on the deck. She knew who the culprit was without asking.
"How many times do I have to tell you to keep that mangy mutt out of trouble!" Jack was pacing his quarters agitatedly.
"Jack I-" Anamaria started, but Jack wasn't finished yet.
"First she terrorized Mr. Cotton's parrot. The bird wouldn't talk for a week. And you know how difficult THAT was."
"Aye, but they're good friends now. "
Jack had quit pacing and was now standing, in front of Anamaria gesturing wildly. "Then she startled Gibbs out of his wits when she jumped on his chest while he was asleep."
"Gibbs shouldn't of been-"
"That's beside the point. " Jack interrupted.
A whine sounded from under the bed, and then the puppy flopped across the rolling planks to Anamaria. She knelt down and scolded the pup with a "Bad Kieko. You shouldn't be in the Captain's quarters." The pup whimpered, but Anamaria ignored the pitiful sound while she carried the pup out and locked her in her own cabin. When she came back, Jack was picking up the bottles. Anamaria got a mop and started to clean up the spilled drink. Jack leaned against his desk.
"And now she's gone and spilled 3 bottles of my good rum. If this doesn't stop ye'll have to leave her somewhere. With that dog's taste for mischief, I'm surprised she hasn't fallen overboard by now."
Anamaria stopped mopping and looked up. "I'm sorry Jack. She'll behave. Give 'er another chance. Please?"
The right side if Jack's mouth twitched in thought. "If she keeps causing this kind of trouble, she'll have to leave for the comfort of the crew. Savvy?"
"Aye."
It had been two weeks since Kieko had caused any major trouble. The Pearl's crew was getting ready to dock in Tortuga, and most of them were currently below deck. Jack stood at the helm, Keiko laying a few feet in front of the wheel. This seemed to be the dog's favorite spot, much to Jack's annoyance. True, the dog was behaving much better, but Jack still didn't favor having her on the Pearl.
A sudden gust of wind interrupted Jack's musings by blowing his hat off and sending it flying across the deck. Before Jack could make a move to try and catch it, Keiko was up and running. She snatched the hat just before it went sailing out into the sea. Keiko trotted proudly over to Jack, tail wagging furiously the entire way. And laid the hat down at his feet. The, still panting, she sat down and watched him with her big brown eyes.
Jack knelt down and put on his hat. Then he grinned and patted the dog on the head.
"Looks like you'll be staying after all."
