PEANUTSMEN

Page One, Panel One

Linus is looking down at Charlie Brown's unconscious body, lying on the grass. A familiar football is lying next to him.

Linus: Well, that must have been some fall, Charlie Brown. (Looks in the general direction of where he thinks Charlie Brown tried to kick off) Yes, sir, that must have been quite a fall.

Panel Two

Snoopy, dressed as his alter ego "Snoopschach," mask and all, is lying on top of his doghouse, thinking out loud as usual.

From Snoopschach's journal, 2009:

Soon it will be Spring. The others will come out expecting to play baseball, but their manager won't be there. Yesterday saw Charlie Brown lying on grass next to football. Had to go to hospital for first time. Was Lucy really responsible? Seems unlikely he would deliberately hurt him.

Panel Three

Snoopschach is looking at his empty food dish.

Snoopschach: Charlie Brown is down, and no one cares. No one but me.

Panel Three

Linus is incredulous when Snoopschach tells him his theory of who was responsible for Charlie Brown's injuries.

Linus: You mean you think Schroder did it? But…why???

Snoopschach: Your sister gave him constant unwanted attention. If blamed for injuring Charlie Brown, might stay away.

Panel Four:

Snoopschach and Linus are flying towards Schroder's house on Snoopschach's dog house.

Linus: The thing is, if he's really gone crazy, how would we know?

Snoopschach: When find him, can ask.

Snoopschach's journal: Possibly final entry. Schroder…cannot imagine more dangerous opponent.

Panel Five

Inside Schroder's house. Linus and Snoopschach are watching as he freely admits guilt.

Schroder: Yes, Linus, I did it. I framed your sister. And soon the entire neighborhood will be blaming her, as well. She'll be responsible for the biggest playground stink bomb in history. Pigpen was the key.

Linus: But that's…when were you planning on doing this?

Schroder: I already have. I did it thirty-five minutes ago.

Panel Six

We see a panoramic view of the playground. All of the other kids are there, some of them unconscious, others gasping for breath. Woodstock and his friends are trying to get relief in their fountain. Even the leaves have fallen off the Kite-Eating Tree. Thick brown clouds hang over everything.
