They sit on the clock tower. Hayner has the funny stories, and Roxas has the adventurous ones and Olette is reminding them that they need to go to the beach and then do their homework. And Pence, well, Pence brought them all together – not to mention he brought the sea salt ice-cream. As summer comes to an end, and another year is passing them by – Pence wonders, and Pence thinks, what's going to happen next? And somehow he knows, that someday Hayner is going to get in so much trouble and Roxas is going to disappear. Olette will get into an amazing college, and Pence – he'll take photography.
He'll capture moments in time.
So they can look back before Hayner got kicked out of school, and Roxas was still around. Olette will giggle, and point at her weird hair-style, and Hayner will laugh about the stupid army stuff he had to wear. And Pence will look both of them and grin, because he's glad he can bring a smile to their faces. He just wishes, instead of capturing moments in time –
He could bring them back to life.
"Hey guys!" Pence calls, and they look – click.
Olette sticking out her tongue, Roxas was luckier and caught on quickly grinning and giving Hayner bunny ears. Hayner was laughing, and Pence was just barely in there, a happy smile plastered on his face. And in the background, a shooting star, it was just so perfect.
Pence wishes they could live like that forever.
