It was a beautiful day in Gravity Falls. Just outside the Mystery Shack, Grunkle Stan was playing in the field with great-nephew Dipper and great-niece Mabel. After a long day of catch, the old man noogied Dipper in the head and set Mabel onto his shoulder, to which Mabel said, "Grunkle Stan, you're the best uncle in the whole world."

But then, all of a sudden, a bright yellow triangle demon appeared before the family. His name was Bill Cipher, and his very presence reminded the family of the Devil.

Mabel screamed, "His face is made of nightmares!"

Dipper yelled, "He once stole my body!"

But Stan had the courage to shout, "What do you want, Bill?"

Bill replied, "Oh, I dunno. I just want a little something with your twins."

"It'd better be good," grumbled Stan, "because if it isn't, I have a certain gesture I wanna show ya."

'Oh, it's really good. I mean, really," said Bill with a little sarcasm in his voice, but Stan knew sarcasm when he heard it, so he knew that the demon could not be trusted.

"If you want to destroy my family," the old man declared, "NO DICE, COWBOY!"

So he tried to leap up to Bill to punch him right in the face. But Bill was not one to play fair, so he pulled out a rope and tied Stan to a totem pole.

"You think you're so clever, eh, old man," gloated Bill. "Well, you've gone too far! And don't worry! I'll take good care of Pine Tree and Shooting Star!"

Poor Stan could do nothing but watch with horror as Bill hovered over to Dipper and Mabel and fired his laser beam at them, annihilating them both in a blinding flash!

"NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!" screamed Stan as he woke up with a start! It was only then when he discovered that it was all just a nightmare.

Frantically, Stan rushed upstairs to the attic. There, he discovered that Dipper and Mabel were still alive and well, but they had also been awoken by his screams of fright.

Dipper and Mabel stared at their great-uncle, and the boy asked, "What were you yelling about?"

And Stan, who could bear it no more, said solemnly to the children, "I just don't want to lose you two." And he came up and hugged the children. While he was doing this, several tears ran down his face, but he managed to dry them before he let go of them, for he didn't like crying in front of other people.

"Now go back to sleep," he said as he sent Dipper and Mabel back to their beds, tucked them in, and kissed them good night.

As he closed the door and returned to his own bedroom, he bitterly contemplated the fact that, because of the weirdness of Gravity Falls, the twins could be in danger at any moment.
