Ciao bellas.

This is the first poem which I have written voluntarily, so to me, it's quite important. I wrote this at 11:56, at least seven months ago. Inspiration only ever hits me late at night. It's why I get so many migraines and headaches. I think. One would expect that I would be used to six to five hours of sleep after three or four years of it.

INFORMATION:

1) Poseidon was god of the sea.

2) The river referred to so many times is the River Styx, which the dead would have to cross to get to Hades.

3) Hades is not only the name of the God of the Underworld and Death, but also the name of the Underworld.

4) Lines 3 to 4 in the 7th stanza is basically a mockery of Albert Einstein's quote, "Gods do not play dice."

Enjoy chiquitas! And chiquitos.

Battle Song

Shining sun,

Over horizons sunk,

It shines no more,

On Poseidon's shore.

My heart is dead,

I wait for ye,

I wait across the river,

Come join me in my battle song.

Oh, I'll wait for ye across the river,

Come join me in my battle song,

As I cry for all the memories lost,

And sing for the forgotten love.

Weeping moon,

In Hades plunged,

It hides the way,

And travellers fail.

My soul is dark,

I cry for ye,

For ye to finally come,

To sing with me across the river.

Oh I'll wait for ye across the river,

Come join me in my battle song,

To cry for all the memories lost,

And sing for the forgotten love.

My gods disdain,

My life to them,

They play the dice,

Gamble for my life,

Damned for evermore.

I cry for ye,

I call to thee,

And yet your ears are closed to me,

I sing alone,

My heart it burns,

My soul forever dark.

Yet still I sing my battle song,

As I wait across the river.

When you come to me,

You'll sing with me,

We'll cry our battle song.
