Felix's latest girlfriend had dumped him earlier that day, and he was in a deep depression over it. Oscar couldn't be there for him because he had to be at a boxing match for his newspaper, that night. So Felix spent the evening morosely watching the TV.

At 8:00, there was a knock on his door. He got up and opened it. It was Myrna, Oscar's secretary.

"Hi, Felix. Can I come in?"

"Sure, Myrna."

She walked in. "Oscar told me what happened."

"He did?"

"Yeah. He wanted me to check in on you."

"That was nice of him—and you."

"How do you feel?"

"Not bad."

"Well, you look pretty bad to me!" He said nothing to that. "You wanna talk about it?"

"She said that I'm not very spontaneous."

"Well, you're not."

"Myrna!"

"I'm just stating a fact. You're not very spontaneous."

He nodded. "Yeah, I guess you're right."

"When was the last time you did something really wild and crazy?"

He thought this over. "Last year, I took my tie off, in the office. It was really hot, that day!"

"Wow!" she said sarcastically. "Felix, let's do a little experiment."

"An experiment?"

"Yeah. Come with me."

She led him into the bathroom. She turned on the tub faucets and set up the shower.

"Get into the water!"

This shocked him. "Not in front of a lady!"

"No, you don't understand; I want you to get in with your clothes ON."

This shocked him even more. "With my clothes on?"

"That's right."

"No, I couldn't do that!"

"Well then, I'll do it."

She took her shoes and sock off and adjusted the taps to make the water hotter. Then she got into it. Within a few seconds, she was soaked.

"You're taking a shower with your clothes on!"

"Yep! Now, you try it."

He paused. "Well, I was going to dry clean these clothes anyway."

He started to remove his tie, but she stopped him. "No, keep your clothes on! You can only take your shoes and socks off."

"Oh, OK."

He quickly took them off. She stood on the other side of the tub away from the water.

"I can't do it!"

"Here, let me help you."

She put her wet arms around his shoulders and gave him a wet hug.

"There, that's better."

He looked at himself. "Well, I guess I might as well, now."

He slowly got into the shower.

"This isn't so bad, actually. In fact, it's kinda fun!"

"There you go!"

He let the water soak him, and soon he was as wet as she was.

"He, look at me, I'm spontaneous!

"Yeah!"

"I'll call Janet and tell her about this!"

"Uh, Felix, I don't think that's such a good idea."

"Yeah, I guess you're right. Another girl will come along."

"That's the spirit!"

He began a chorus of "Singing in the Rain," and she joined him in it. They both splashed water on each other.

At that moment, Oscar came in. Hearing the singing and the water, he went into the bedroom. He was shocked at what he saw!

"What the hell's going on?!" he demanded.

"I just taught Felix to be spontaneous," said Myrna.

"Yes, isn't it wonderful?" said Felix.

"Fantastic!" said Oscar.
