Into the Darkness

Sasuke and Naruto meet for the first time since Sasuke left Konoha. Their feelings for one another have not changed, and both boys are willing to die for the other... one-shot, written at least a year ago

"Into the darkness, together we fall…"

Red eyes met blue for a split second. It didn't matter Flashes of black and orange danced all over the forest setting until the sound of a weapon piercing flesh was heard. Movement stopped as one boy lay helpless on the ground, the other hovering just above him.

"S-Sasuke? Is that really you?" Blue eyes widened.

Red eyes faded to black. "Yes, dobe. It's me."

Tears started to fall. "I began to think you'd never come back…"

Sasuke looked up at the crying blonde and reached his hand out. "Don't cry for me, Naruto."

"I'm not crying for you!" Naruto yelled. "I'm crying… for us."

"For us?"

Naruto nodded, swiping a tear away from his cheek. "When you left… a part of me left, too. I missed you so much, Sasuke, and when we finally met again… I never thought it would be like this!"

Sasuke pushed himself up with his elbows so he could look into Naruto's watery eyes. "I'll be fine, I promise. Just kiss me and make it better." He grinned.

Naruto's eyes widened. "S-Sasuke?"

"Are you going to kiss me or not?"

The blonde's lips twitched into a smile before he pressed them to Sasuke's. After this short moment of bliss, he felt a sharp pain in his chest. He broke the kiss and looked down.

Blood.

Naruto's watery eyes fled upward to Sasuke's face. "Sasuke?"

Sasuke's eyes closed as dropped his kunai. "I'm sorry, Naruto."

They both fell to the ground as Naruto grasped Sasuke's hand tightly. Neither boy let go as they slowly slipped into the darkness.D
