Dear Remus,
Hope you've had a great Christmas, and that you liked the book I gave you- you told me you hadn't much experience of muggle literature, and Sherlock Holmes is my absolute favourite! Thank you so much for my book, I can't wait to read it. I think I should have got a book like that before I went to Hogwarts- "Things That Muggles Actually Got a Bit Right!" would have been useful to know, and saved me a term's worth of silly mistakes. I still can't believe that there are really such things as giants and vampires and werewolves. I'll probably have read it several times by the time we get back to school!
So far my Christmas has been quiet. I think I may actually prefer having your annoying friends about, than my sister completely ignoring me and sulking. I can't wait to get back to Hogwarts either way, it doesn't seem right that less than a year ago I had no idea that magic was real at all.

Could you not think of anything better than that? Anyway, your warning was too late, if the entries were sorted alphabetically, so W wasn't at the end, you might have been alright. I am not angry at anyone, or upset, nor does it change my opinion about anyone or anything. It seems to be something that cannot be help. Not everyone will have such an open mind; hopefully their prejudices will stop them from connecting the dots so don't worry. I can see why you didn't mention it before, and why you couldn't explain fully in your letter.
Still can't wait to see you on the Hogwarts express, where we can talk properly.
