Another lifetime

The final battle was at its highest point and Hermione was running faster than she ever though she could, Bellatrix was chasing her and throwing curses at her. She rounded a corner, and tried to hid herself but Bellatrix was right after her and she threw a crusiatuscurse at her and her eyesight blinked and she hit the floor and all her mind could register was pain, enormous pain.

She heard someone yelling the killing curse and her brain told her that this was it; she was going to die, right her, right now. her eyes was shut and she felt something brush her cheek, her eyes fluttered open and met sad silvery eyes staring down at her. Was she in heaven?

One moment later she recognized the eyes, and her environment was slowly being registered in her brain, she was in danger.

She could not move, her body being heavy and powerless, he picked her up and sneaked up towards the Ravenclaw tower, on the way he found an empty classroom and pulled her in and looked the door and putting up several protecting charms.
Hermione watched in silence as he worked, his eyes was calm with a slight tint of fear, that's good she fought, he should be afraid of her!

When he was done he turned towards her and sat down on the opposite end of the room, was he holding her captive? But what happened to Bellatrix? Almost like he had heard her thoughts he answered:

"Bellatrix is dead "

"how…?"

"I shot the killing curse at her" he answered calmly and he was obviously proud over his deed.

She stared at him in shock, he had… saved her?

"but…why?" she asked, she couldn't believe it, it have to be a dream, maybe she was knocked out.

"well I figured I don't want you to die and I need to tell you something before I die" he said looking at her with steel eyes, not breaking the eye contact.

It says that the eyes are a person's mirror of the soul, and his really was, so many emotions, so many stories he told her with just one look. Like all his emotions where saved for this moment and all just pureed out of him, leaving no questions unanswered.

"Tell me what?" she said, she needed to know if the emotions where real or else she would be mad at herself for falling for it.

"That I regret everything. And that im sorry and that I hope your life becomes long and beautiful just like you." There were no lies in it, it was so pure, and it was straight from the bottom of the heart.

He cupped his hand on her cheeks and leaned forward so their noses where touching slightly, "And that I always loved you" with that he leaned onto her and his lips met hers in a passionate kiss.

She kissed him back with all the hidden emotions she had stored for him and wrapped her arms around his shoulders.

This might be the last time they ever see each other, first and last time they ever touch each other, last time either one of them would be happy.

She began to feel dizzy from the blood loss and she could feel it drenching her clothes, her warm blood cover almost every inch of her midsection. She knew he was as bad hurt as she was, they would both die in this war.

They would die but they would never be accepted in this life anyhow, in some other life they would be the happiest couple on earth. But it was not their choice to make.

She began to shiver and her eyes shut close and she leaned into his embrace waiting for death to come.

Breathing getting shallow, irregular and slower. Hearts beating in a song of comfort, and with one last beat it closed.

Love bringing them together once again in another life.
