A/N: This story is written for Poolbreeze, the awesome admin of the best forum I've been apart of. Seriously, you're awesome. She's fun to roleplay with, I had my first ever developed pairing with her (HazelMaple is OTP), and the forum she started is where I truly warmed up to roleplaying. For the first time I've had a leader, a medicine cat, a queen, and more. I love you and your forum!

Now, I wasn't sure at first what to do for her gift, but since I can't draw for my life, I decided to write a story. I already did a Maplefrost x Hazelwing story, and I don't want to do another. So instead, I'm going to do one of Maplefrost and Poolbreeze as kits.

"Mom? Gingerstep?" Maplekit nudged her mother, who simply rolled over.

"Go play with the other kits, sweetie," Gingerstep answered, bored.

Maplekit sighed, and walked over to the other kits, who were already engrossed in a game. She laid down alone and curled up. Why doesn't my mother play with me? Poolkit's mother does. Hazelkit's mother does. But she always just tells me to play with someone else? Am I not good enough? Maybe not. But I'll train to be the best warrior ever and impress her when I become an apprentice!

Lost in thought, she didn't notice when Poolkit walked over with a mossball. "Maplekit. Maplekit. Maplekit!" she got louder as she poked Maplekit.

"Oh, hey Poolkit. What is it?"

"Well, I wanted to know if you wanted to play with me. You know, mossball," Poolkit said, a little nervous because of Maplekit's already prickly personality.

Maplekit softened. "Of course, Poolkit. But are you sure you don't want to play with the others?"

"No, they're already playing together. You looked lonely," Poolkit responded.

Maplekit gave her a look of utmost gratitude and began to play with Poolkit. A few other kits came eventually over and joined them.

From that day on, Maplekit and Poolkit were close. They were like sisters all through their kithood, apprenticeship, warrior lives, even when they both became mothers at the same time. It came as no surprise when their kits were friends too. And Maplefrost always remembered how Poolkit would cheer her younger self up when she was particularly lonely.

So there's that. It's short because I had to speed-write this, as I have to go to some cousins and wanted it out today. I hope you like it, Pool!
