Author's Note: This here, is a short one-shot I felt the need to write. I hope you enjoy it! Read and review!

EPOV

Reading people's minds can become quite annoying.

Sometimes they think of things I'd rather not hear or they just aren't worth listening to.

I look around at the people that walk past me.

They don't know that I stand here listening to their current thoughts.

They don't know that their personal lives are being evaded because of my ability.

If they did, I'd say I'm sorry. I wasn't my choice that I have this strange ability.

I close my eyes and try to focus only on my thoughts. My feelings. My family. My friends. My dead life.

Sighing, push off from the brick building I was leaning on and start walking to my car.

I was going to head to Volterra and make my number one wish come true. I'm still surprised Alice hasn't come for me yet.

That's when I heard the vile thoughts of a few guys.

For some reason, I had the urge to save some unknown girl from those guys.

I rush into the dark alley where they were.

There, I saw a two holding her down, one putting duck tape on her mouth and drugging, and another starting to peel her clothes off.

From my spot, I could see the fear in the unknown girl's eyes. Then, her eyes began to droop from the drugs.

Before they could do anything else, I raced over and pushed them all off of her. When I made sure they were just unconscious, I grabbed the girl and carried her to my car.

I put her into the passenger seat and raced to the driver's side.

As I drove, I looked over at her. That's when I noticed I haven't been breathing.

I sucked in a breath and was attacked by the most delicious scent that made my throat burn strongly.

I growled and was ready to attack.

But, somehow, the sensible part of brain stopped me. It made me think.

I can't just attack this girl. That'd go against how Carlisle taught me. It'd let down my family.

That's also when I realized that if I really go to Volterra, I'd be letting my family down too.

I let my head fall as I continued to speed down the highway.

I can't believe I almost did that.

I look over at the door. She was actually kind of cute. It's weird that she makes me think before I act and we've never actually met.

Pulling up to the house, I cut the engine and take the unknown girl to the house.

When I get inside and say, "Carlisle."

In one second, Carlisle is beside me. "What is it?"

"This girl almost got raped and she's been drugged."

Carlisle takes her upstairs.

I go into the living room and sit down on the couch. I sat there for about 15 minutes before Carlisle came back.

"So…" I trail off, letting him know to go ahead and tell me the news.

"She'll be fine. But, she won't wake up until tomorrow morning."

I nod and race up to the room where the unknown girl was.

I sat down on the edge of the bed and ignored the thirst that raged on in my throat and swallowed back the venom that filled my mouth.

When morning came, the unknown girl began to wake up.

Her fluttered up and saw deep chocolate brown pools that looked up at me and sparkled. There was question in her eyes too. "Who are you?" She asked, her voice the most beautiful compared to others I heard come from humans.

"I'm Edward. Who are you?"

"I'm Bella." And that's when I noticed I couldn't read her mind.

This doesn't take place in any of the books. It's like a random start to a twisted Twilight. But, I this will not be extended unless I suddenly want to in the future. =D I hope you enjoyed it and that I got the vampire charateristics right. Review!!!
