Drip. Drip. Drip.
Diamond tears dripped off the porcelain face of a 13 year old girl. With a soft dripping sound, they landed on the wooden floor boards of the Bei Fong estate, collecting in a small puddle, before escaping through the cracks in the floor. If only she could do the same.
"I understand that you were not kidnapped, but I'd much prefer if you stay here daughter. It's only a miracle that you even made it back alive!"
"But father!" Begged Toph. "You've seen what I can do! Surely you can't deny that I-"
"Enough!" Roared Lao Bei Fong. "You will not continue her travels with the avatar! I forbid it!"
"But-"
"Not another word about it!"
"Fine" Toph said loudly. "What about 3? I. Hate. You."
Lao Bei Fong only watched sadly as his daughter feld from the room.
A large slab of rock blocked Toph's door now. She sat on the edge of her bed, her head in her hands, letting the cool evening air wash over her. It reminded her so much of him. The person she was kept away from...
She rubbed angrily at her blind eyes, and mentaly shook herself. Get it together Toph, she scolded silently, you're the worlds greatest earth bender! Just bust out of here...
But only if it were that simple. Twenty guards were stationed on the ground below her window, and another thirty were guarding her door.
She felt a slight shift in the breeze, and light footsteps reached her feet. They were so familiar...
"I'm sorry I can't come with you, Twinkles" Toph said, trying to sound light hearted and breezy.
He stood in silence, before walking over to her.
"I know what you need" he said.
"What?" Toph replyed. Air bending powers? Eyes that can see? New parents?
His long arms wrapped around her small frame, pulling her closer. Her head rested lightly on his chest, and he whispered into her hair;
"A hug."
Awww, I think this was some of my better work. Toph may be a bit OOC, but even the greatest earth benders in the world need a hug sometimes...
