He stood atop the green hill looking down upon the night. Nothing had changed in the last few years. Nothing would ever change. His eyes planted on the cold stone. What did life have for him anymore? He had lived over a thousand years now, and he still found no purpose. He lowered himself to the ground and sat. His mind began to drift off to days of past. The days he felt would never slip away.

He sat playing his guitar when she walked in. Long blonde hair, blue eyes, and a smile you would never forget. She gave that same smile every time she saw him, but yet it never aged nor did it ever lose its meaning. He could feel his heart radiate when she was near, but he would never let her know how he truly felt. She would never love him as he loved her. He casted a smile back towards her. A smile that let her know, he was happy that she showed. She dropped her backpack and took off her hat. Today was a normal day for them. Yet at the same time, normal was never the same. Nothing changed but nothing ever stayed the same. Maybe in a world that did not lose its sanity that would sound as if it made sense, but here, in the land of Aah, nothing made much sense anymore. All that did to him was his true feelings towards his love. His fingers pulled the strings and her voice echoed across his world. A voice that sirens would crawl too, he would tell her. She would blush and tell him to stop lying. Those days had it all. Those days had so much hope for everyone, even him. Nights would have been so lonely without the hope she had given him. For the world had ripped it all away. Bombs fell, people died, and the world slowly became what it is today. A world he would never fit into to. Not without her.

Now he sat looking down onto the stone. He ran his fingers across the words engraved onto it. His voice came out in hoarsely and dreadfully "Here lies… Fionna the Human. Adventurer, sister, and last great Hero." He reached into the pocket of his suit and a knife showed. He pressed it against the stone and engraved another set of words. His blade pulled away and once again a voice came from his mouth. "And the love of my life." He slowly stood up and stared into the horizon as it began to light. Now in his hand he held two roses, one white and one red. His eyes let the world know of what he lost. The tears let them now he could never replace her. Now the sun began to rise and lit the world, but not a world he felt was right for him. Not without his love. Light slowly slid across the ground towards him. His eyes did not leave the stone as his body began to fade. The last words the left his mouth would be the words he never could say "I always loved you… Fionna." Ashes flew from atop the hill, but two rose fell onto the ground. Two roses that would be together forever. One red rose that never let go and one white rose that never said what it felt.
You never know when it'll come, and what will be left unsaid. So go and say it. Regretting you never said it will always outweigh regret of saying it.
