Hey guys! So I really enjoyed the movie Zootopia. And Nick Wilde was hard core! So I kinda wanted to write my own (and first) zootopia fanfic.

Enjoy!

The lights from the colorful city Zootopia shimmered in the darkness, making the city light up like the starry sky.

Throughout the city there was only peace and laughter. All places, but one. In a house, placed down a dark empty street, a small fox pup sat inside her house, drawing with crayons. The fox's fur shone a beautiful snow white color, and her eyes were icy blue. It was an arctic fox. The little pup was only 8 years old, and her name was Emily.

Emily's mother, another arctic fox, stepped into the room. "What are you doing honey?" She asked softly.

Emily looked up at her mother. "I made a drawing of us!" She exclaimed happily, showing the drawing to her mother.

Her mother smiled fondly, and said: "Well, it just needs our names now." She then wrote 'Mom' on the side where she had been drawn, and 'Daughter' on the side Emily was drawn.

"See? Much better."

Then a heavy knock on the door interrupted their moment.

"Rosa!" Yelled someone outside. "Open the door!"

The mother looked around panicked. 'Oh no,' She thought. 'I don't have the money to pay them back!'

Her eyes then landed on her sweet daughter, who looked at her mother with fear shimmering in her crystal orbs. "Mommy, what's happening?"

Her mother quickly picked up her daughter and ran into the bedroom.

"Stay in here. And do not come out at any circumstances, okay?"

Emily felt tears of fright welling up in her eyes. "O- okay."

Her mother nodded, and then left the room, closing the door behind her.

Emily sat alone, clenching a teddy she had, close to her. She then looked down at her teddy, which was a red fox. Her mother had given it to her when she was only 2 years old. They never had a lot of money, so Emily had always cherished the teddy, for it was her only toy, besides the crayons. When she was smaller she decided to call her teddy: Red. Seemingly as it was the most original name, she could come up with.

The sound of bangs and plates breaking were heard, making the small pup shake in fright.

Suddenly a loud bang and scream were heard. That made Emily's heart stop, and tears welled up in her eyes. "M- mommy?"

She wanted to go out of the room, but her mother had strictly told her not to leave at any circumstances.

Emily looked at the phone that was placed on the bed, and quickly ran up, and dialed the numbers: 911.

After a few seconds the other line picked up. "ZPD, what's your emergency?"

"S- some bad men broke into our house. I- I think they have hurt my mommy." She now began sobbing. "P- please hurry, they a- are still in t- the house."

"We are on our way."

Emily shook and whispered; "Thank you." Before hanging up.

She waited for what felt like hours when it really was just minutes.

Suddenly she heard footsteps approaching the door. Her breathing was now faster, and she could hear her heart pound in her ears. Emily hoped with all her heart that it would be her mother, but when the door suddenly was kicked down, she saw only evil eyes staring down at her.

A grey wolf, with a black hoodie on, looked down at the pup and smirked evilly. "Hey, guys!" He called, making two other animals appear behind him. One was a rhino, and the other was a tiger.

"Look what I found." He crackled.

Emily clenched her teddy even closer to her. "W- where is my mommy!" She said, trying to sound as brave as possible.

The tiger, who looked like the leader, stood forward and shot a glare at her. "Dead."

Emily couldn't believe what she heard. Dead?

Tears were now streaming down her white cheeks. "No..." She whispered.

Then the tiger lifted a gun and pointed it at the pup. "Just like you are going to be."

But before he could pull the trigger, two figures ran towards them, from behind. One bunny, one fox.

"Freeze!" The fox snapped, pointing a gun at the tiger.

Then the three mammals ran over to the end of the room, and jumped out of the open window.

"Stop in the name of the law!" The bunny shouted running after them.

Then she stood and said into a walkie talkie. "Officer Mchorn, follow the criminals! They are running north!"

"I'm on it." Said a voice on the other end.

Then the bunny turned around, and her eyes landed on the small fox who was shaking in fear. Her hard gaze softened and turned into one of sympathy.

"Hey," She said walking towards the pup. "Are you okay?"

The fox behind her walked forward, and lifted his sunglasses, with only eyes of pity hidden beneath.

"W- where is my mommy?" Emily asked, ignoring the bunny's question.

Both of the cops froze, nor knew what to say.

Then the red fox shook his head and looked down. "I'm sorry, kid," He whispered, then held a small pause. "She's gone."

That was when realization dawned the small pup, and she began crying harder than she had ever done before.

The bunny instantly ran to Emily's side, and hugged her.

"It's okay." She hushed. "It's gonna be okay."

After a few minutes of the small cub crying, the red fox sighed and said; "Come on, we need to get her to the ZPD."

The bunny nodded, and then she took the small fox's hand, and led her outside. As they were passing the place her mother was laying dead, the red fox placed his paws over Emily's eyes, not wanting her to see the horrible sight.

When they had finally reached the police car, the bunny stopped and looked at the fox.

"Nick, she can't sit in the back, so she has to sit on your lab." The bunny said.

The fox, apparently named Nick, looked at her in disbelief. "Are you serious Carotts?" He asked.

"Yes," The bunny said annoyed. "Now get in the car."

They all got in the big car, and Nick awkwardly placed the small pup on his lap. The whole way everyone was silent, only the sound of Emily's sobs was heard.

Then, the bunny took a deep breath. "What's your name sweetie?" She asked softly.

The white fox gave a small sob. "Emily Wood."

"Well Emily, I'm Judy Hopps," She introduced. "And this is my partner Nick Wilde."

Emily gave Judy a small smile, then they had reached the ZPD.

It was at least 3 hours later. Emily had been up to all sorts of interviews with the cobs, asking her; how the criminals looked, what happened, and all that.

Judy was really nice, that much had Emily picked up on. As for Nick; he hadn't really talked to her, and he never really looked at her.

Emily was waiting in a room, for both Nick and Judy. They had been called into their Chief's office about 10 minutes ago.

Emily dug into her hoodie pocket and found the drawing she had made of her and her mother. A tear rolled down her cheek and landed on the glossy paper.

"Whatcha got there?" Asked a gentle voice, startling her a little.

She looked up, only to meet a pair of emerald green orbs. It was Nick. He had left the office a little bit earlier since Bogo and Judy had something 'private' to discuss.

"I- it's just a drawing I made of my mommy and me."She said wiping away the tears.

Nick sat down beside her, and studied the 'artwork'. "It's not half bad, kid." He commented.

Then, Judy and Chief Bogo came walking out of the office, and looking at Emily. "Well," The buffalo started in his deep voice. "You need to stay with one of the officers until we crack the case."

The bunny stood forward. "I would love to take care of her, but my parents are home for the time being, and using the only guest room." She said sadly.

"Well, that leaves Wilde." Chief Bogo said.

Nick scoffed. "Me? Why me? Can't somebody else do it?"

That clenched Emily's heart. She didn't know why, but she just felt somewhat safe around the sly fox. And she had a strong feeling that he didn't want her.

"I mean;" Nick started. "There are like 30 other officers. Why can't one of them do it?"

"Because I'm telling you to do it." The buffalo said annoyed. "It's an order."

Nick went to protest, but quickly shut his mouth, seeing Judy's icy glare.

He groaned irritated. "Fine," The fox gave in. "But only till we crack the case."

The two foxes were now walking towards Nick's car. Emily walked slowly with her head low. She truly missed her mother more than ever.

"Hey Snow, keep it up," Nick said upfront.

Emily huffed in annoyance. "My name is Emily, not Snow."

The red fox rolled his eyes. "Whatever."

Then they got into the car and started driving towards Emily's (for the time being) new home.
