Remus was chasing after Sirius when…IT HAPPENED.

He tripped. Of course, he got up unscathed, but as he dusted off his pants and robes, he noticed that his shoes were untied.

Now, the last time that had happened, he was 5. From then on, he was able to just slip his feet into shoes, without having to undo the butterfly loop in the front.

He was mortified. So instead of calling out to Sirius, telling him to wait, Remus just sat in the spot on which he was standing, and stared at the two strings, hanging loosely down his shoes. He took one in each hand, and tried to fumble his way through the agonizing process of…tying his shoes.

"Remus?" Sirius paused and turned around and saw his best friend on the ground. Sirius walked over, giving him a puzzled look.

"I fell." Remus said, concentrating on the two strings, though he only managed to tie his own finger into the knot. Sirius kept watching him, an amused look spreading across his features as he watched Remus struggle over tying his shoes.

Remus, however, was getting frustrated, and was also blushing due to the fact that Sirius was watching him struggle. 'Gods, I'm not going to hear the end of this…' he thought dejectedly, pulling his finger out of the knots.

"Remus…" Remus finally looked up at his dark haired friend, and frowned at the comically amused expression he found himself looking at.

"It's…really not what you think."

"Oh, I think it is! To think! Remus Lupin, Gryffindor GENIUS, can't tie his shoe!" With that, Sirius began to laugh as Remus just glared at him. Ignoring his untied shoe, he stood up and huffed off.

"Be that way, Sirius. Have fun FAILING TRANSFIGURATION!" Remus called back, turning his head slightly to look back at Sirius, who was calming down from his laugh-attack.

That was right before Remus tripped over his shoelaces and ended up on the ground again.

"ARGH!!" Remus let out a cry as several bystanders walked by. They gave him a weird look. Sirius came over, his smirk still present on his face.

"Give me your foot, Moony." Remus pouted and turned away.

"Do you want to trip up everywhere or what? Now give me your foot!" Remus gave Sirius a slight Look, then stuck his foot out ever so slightly. Sirius grabbed it and pulled it out all whole way.

"Now look…it's not that hard, mate. See? Form two loop-dee-loops, cross them over, tuck, pull, and…voila!" Sirius demonstrated. "Don't be mad, OK? I'll tie your shoes from now on, how about that?"

Remus managed a small smile. After all, he couldn't stay angry at Sirius for an extended period of time – which meant more than five minutes. "Thanks, Sirius."

"Don't worry about it, Remus. But do try to learn, OK?" Sirius helped Remus up, and dusted himself off.

"Kay."
