I've decided that there aren't enough non-ultra-sentimental death fics.

I'm about to change that.

The last akuma Ladybug and Cat Noir faced was a tough one. Rather than have some sort of novel power like pigeon-mind-control, this victim was endowed by Hawk Moth with the power of Ergokinesis.

In case you don't know, ergokinesis is the power to create and control energy. Since all matter has energy, the akuma can manipulate the energy in matter as well. (not to be confused with mystokinesis, the manipulation of magic)

Energenerator, as she was called, preferred to shoot balls of heat and light as her main attack. Since energy travels at near the speed of light, the heroes had to rely on their miraculouses' magic powers to avoid the attacks.

The akuma and the heroes were dancing around each other furiously. A crowd had discreetly gathered around them and watched in anticipation, waiting for the heroes to purify the akuma.

Energenerator sent a ball of energy toward Ladybug. Before she even realized what was happening, Cat Noir was on the floor hissing in pain.

The cry from Ladybug's mouth was blood-chilling.

In her newfound fury, she purified the akuma within 30 seconds and shouted, "Miraculous Ladybug!"

Sadly, only a divine miracle could save Cat Noir, for death's grip is inescapable.

Hawk Moth noticed that Cat Noir died, and the distress of both Ladybug and the watching citizens created the perfect opportunity to swoop down and take the miraculous. There was one issue, though.

Marinette is not the type of person to be demoralized by death, especially when the partner she trusts turns out to be the boy she loves.

So when Hawk Moth teleported to the site of his death, he was shocked to see not a sobbing Ladybug, but a furious Marinette Dupain-Cheng.

Slipping a silver ring onto her left ring finger.

The kwamis frantically told her, "Don't transform! You won't be able to hold the power!"

But Marinette knew that.

She could feel the power of the two miraculouses even when detransformed, so she told them, "Who says I need to transform?"

She raised her left hand, and a blinding white light enveloped the city.

Since death's grip is infinite, the power of the ring and earrings cannot be directly used to resurrect the dead. Therfore, Marinette cheats the system and initiates a timeloop of that day, the loop only breaking once Energenerator is purified without Adrien dying.

I'm not writing about timeloop. Maybe one day, for a different circumstance.

And this was a short one. Short and sweet, as they say, but it's more butter in this case.
