All eyes were on him now, the shinobi outside the barrier were astounded, this was the dead-last, it was amazing that he had found such inner strength mere moments before his assured death. "You're all traitors." Naruto spoke to the shinobi within the barrier. "I refuse to allow my dreams to be ended by trash such as you!" He spoke defiantly. "Your dreams!?" Mizuki asked in disgust. "To be Hokage!?" He questioned with a dark chuckle. "You really think this village will allow a monster like you to become Hokage? Please...don't make me laugh, your so called dream is as pathetic as you are!"
Before Mizuki could continue degrading Naruto or even begin attacking him, said blonde interrupted. "No." The word was said so matter-a-factually that it threw Mizuki off kilter. "To become Hokage is my dream, yes; but that's only short term." He said. "Short term?" Mizuki questioned, and he wasn't the only one. Shinobi loyal and traitor alike were baffled by the jinchūriki's response.
"Yes." Naruto continued "Short term. Don't get me wrong, to be Hokage has almost always been my dream, but lately I've been looking at the bigger picture." He told his audience gravely. "This world is full of hate and pain, which lead to war. So many people's lives are ruined because of it. My goal...My DREAM, is to end the suffering of the world, and usher in a new era of peace!"
