The Dance Machine
DISCLAIMER: Tonks, Snape and any other Harry Potter characters belong to J.K.
CLAIMER: I do however own this idea.
A/N: This is a one-shot but if people like it, it may become longer.
Severus Snape walked into the dining room where the D.A. meetings were held. Only one person sat in there, writing speedily in pink ink.
Snape sighed at the woman with purple hair and green eyes, and sat down as far away from her as he could. He took out a map and started to ponder over it.
"You know, I really wish you didn't always have to spend such long hours up at the school." Snape looked up.
"What?" he asked.
"If you didn't spend so long at Hogwarts you probably wouldn't be so grumpy all the time." Snape looked at Tonks who had gone back to her writing. She remained serious, and kept her face down, as she said, "I blame the kids."
Snape crossed his arms and glared at her across the table. She looked up and gave him a bright smile. "Tell you what," Snape said. "If you're so sure that I can be happy, you find a way."
Tonks smiled deviously. "Anything?" she asked.
"As long as it includes nothing to do with flying." Tonks nodded. She picked up her wand.
"Come on!"

Snape looked at himself in the mirror. He was wearing Muggle clothes, which could only be described as cool. "I'm not too sure about the style though. . ." he said, moving some of his gelled hair slightly.
Tonks gave him a knowing look and she changed herself to be wearing a blue halter neck top with jeans and boots. "You like?" she asked.
Snape glared at her, realising she hadn't only changed his looks, but his personality as well. He gave her a very quick half smile, she took his arm and they left.

Snape had no idea where they were when they stood in a room filled with machines. "Okay, I said fun! Not do my head in with noise."
"Relax Snape honey and follow me." Snape had never been called honey in his life, and was shocked as she took his hand and led him to a machine with arrows on the floor.
"It's called a dance machine," Tonks explained. "Stand in the middle bit on the floor, and press the arrows with your feet as they appear on the screen."
Tonks inserted the money and stood on the other platform. "I'm not sure. . ." Snape began but he got cut off as soon as the music started.
Half way through, Tonks glanced at his score. He was beating her by miles. Go Snape! They were on the highest level, and a crowd had begun to form. "Go old guy! Go old guy!" a number of teenagers chanted.
Finally, it was over, and Snape put his name on the top of the high score list and he and Tonks walked away. "Sir! Sir!" Someone called from behind them. Snape turned round to face the boy.
"Yes?" Snape asked impatiently.
"Would you sign this?" the boy asked, handing Snape a piece of paper and pen. Rolling his eyes, Snape did so and he and Tonks started walking again.
"Have a good time?" Tonks asked him after a bit.
Snape just smiled, put his arm round her shoulders and the pair walked back to the bus stop and back to the base of the Order of the Phoenix.
