Saviour
Lungs screaming for air, she desperately pulled at the water trying to claw her way back to the surface. The river swirled all around, tugging and pulling her downwards. A hint of sunlight gave her the burst of energy she needed to kick herself clear. She broke through gasping for air, before the weight of her clothes pulled her back under. A furious burning in her lungs and the black spots appearing in her vision made her understand she was in a lot of trouble. She tried again to breach the surface but her limbs were heavy and numb as exhaustion overwhelmed her.
She choked on the water as the need to breathe overcame her. As her world faded to black she felt something jerk her tunic. A large white form appeared before her eyes. She smiled peacefully as her world faded into nothing.
