Ocean Eyes

Adrien knew so many people who would describe Marinette's eyes as bluebell. But the only word he could come up was ocean when he saw her eyes. The way the sun reflected off her eyes reminded him of better days. Playing in the sand until there was no reflection on the waves because the sun had gone down. When Adrien, his father, and his mother would go on trips to the beach.

Soon, Adrien was sneaking glances at her eyes from beneath his blonde bangs. He couldn't stop looking at her eyes. Her ocean eyes. Every emotion she felt was reflected in those waters. Anger created rough waves and roiling waters. Happiness made bright blue, gentle waves. Adrien wished he could share in that happiness.

Somehow he managed to talk to her. Just simply sharing an umbrella in the rain. Somehow she brought his deepest and most sincere emotions out. She really knew how to make him cry. But slowly, they worked through his issues. It wasn't easy, as there were so many. His father ignored him. His lack of friends, of fun. His crippling loneliness. But there was plenty of help from her ocean eyes.

He knew he was falling for her. Hard, and oh so fast. How couldn't he? She got him in a way no one else did. She had all the right words. He'd never loved anyone the way he loved Marinette. He was scared. But somehow he knew those ocean eyes would keep him safe.

Marinette felt like no one saw her. No one truly saw her. They just saw a cute designer-baker. Not Adrien. He would look into what he called her "ocean eyes" and truly see her. She was careful. She'd been hurt before, but Adrien took got to know her slowly. They had all the time they needed. Marinette knew if Adrien left her...she'd know depths of loneliness she'd never yet experienced. The only thing she'd have left would be her ocean eyes.

Soon Adrien confessed his love to Marinette. They dated for a while. They didn't need to rush it. They knew their feelings. Eventually they were engaged. When they got married, they both knew where it was going to happen. A beach. With waves the color of ocean eyes.
