A/N: Welcome back. Bit of a challenge for me as I normally never write action scenes, so obviously this isn't my best efforts. Oh well, this is the outcome so enjoy it.

Gekyume

gekyume - a "different state" or "next" universe of thought.

Hello.

My name is Gekyume.

What is your name?

"Vanellope von Schweetz," the little girl answered. Vanellope was in a room filled with nothing but a chair she was sitting on, with Gekyume standing right infront of her. The entire time, Vanellope didn't make any eye contact whatsoever, as she continued to stare at the ground beneath her.

How old are you?

The racer had no answer to offer. Sure, Vanellope knew her actual age, that being nine years old, but she wasn't sure if being plugged in the year 1997 meant that she should add up the years since Sugar Rush's plugging to her age.

So she remained silent.

Why are you here?

"Why are you here?" the glitch muttered. Vanellope expected a response to form, but to her surprise, the figure remained silent. He (or was it a she? Vanellope never knew) didn't say one single word for about a solid 5 minutes. Yes, he was expecting an answer.

"Okay fine," Vanellope finally said, breaking the silence. "I just noticed that I ended up in this empty looking place. I don't know what's going on, but if this is a joke, it's not funny."

Once again, the figure remained silent, but this time, it only took a minute for it to say something else.

Hmmm… okay.

In a flash, Vanellope found herself in the same church she once was in for Felix and Calhoun's wedding. After a moment of scanning the room, she walked down the aisle where millions of people were seated, mourning the loss of someone she had no clue of. She noticed familiar faces, that being the rest of Sugar Rush's racers, the Nicelanders from Fix-It Felix Jr, Felix himself, and her old pal Ralph, sat in the front row.

What Vanellope found right at the end of the aisle where the counter was placed was quite morbid. There she was, in a coffin, wearing her signature "glitch" attire, the same exact outfit Vanellope was wearing now.

Many questions flew in her head. What am I doing here? Why am I dead of all things? What kind of joke was this Gekyume guy making?

You are now in my world, or... a piece of my consciousness as one would say.

Vanellope had gotten closer to her own corpse, examining everything. It was still the same her from before, it didn't seem like anything had changed. What is Gekyume trying to do?

Here is my demand.

You will change what you were from the past. Everyone remembered you as being Ralph's best pal, right? Well look at you now, you really messed up, and now you've ended up stiff, cold, forever.

It's about time you fix that.

Vanellope was still examining the corpse, but instead this time, she decided to lunge further in, still shocked at the fact that she was lifeless.

Everyone felt that you weren't you when you decided to make that decision. Ralph made a horrible decision too, but maybe if you wasn't for you and meeting whoever she was, he wouldn't have messed up. Now, everyone is blaming him for your death, not you.

Be blessed that I am giving you this opportunity to handle this. You have messed things up in your life before, I know, but this is the worst of them all, and needs to be fixed, now. I know you can do it, I believe in you.

Vanellope von Schweetz, your time to start the process of battling your past self from November of 2018 starts…

...now.

In the blink of an eye, the right hand of her corpse reached for Vanellope's tiny neck. Taken aback, she quickly shoved the arm away from her and backed up in fear before it could strangle her further.

Her corpse slowly got out of the coffin and started walking towards Vanellope. As it got closer, Vanellope kept on backing up, already breaking a cold sweat. She finally put her hands up and prepared to make her first move.

Vanellope smashed one fist to her corpse's core. In return, the corpse attempted to smash its hand to the left side of her face, but Vanellope quickly blocked said hand with her left hand. Her opponent threw two punches in a desperate attempt to knock her out, but Vanellope ducked just in time. Seeing an open spot on the corpse's face, Vanellope threw a right punch, getting a direct hit to the corpse's head, in which it lost its balance and fell back.

The corpse got up and tried to ram Vanellope down the aisle, yet it failed, and Vanellope grabbed the corpse on its waist, lifting it in the air and ramming it down to the floor. With the corpse pinned down, Vanellope had the opportunity to throw multiple punches to its face until it finally decided to stop moving for a brief time.

Game Central Station was quite empty to say the least. Seems like everyone had decided to visit the funeral session in response to her death. The place was awfully silent, any kind of sound would simply echo across the whole site.

The sound that finally echoed was the sound of a body being thrown right on the floor out of Hero's Duty.

After a few seconds, the corpse got up and noticed Vanellope walking out of the pathway that took them out of Hero's Duty.

"Huh," Vanellope whispered, "this is easier than I thought it would be."

Vanellope ran to the corpse and blew a punch to its face again, where it almost lost its balance. Again, it attempted to ram her against the wall, but to no avail as Vanellope glitched right out of its path, making it fall forward a little bit.

Vanellope turned and continued to attack her opponent. Multiple punches to the head later, Vanellope decided to use her foot and kicked the corpse with the sole of her boot, finally knocking it to the ground completely. With one final stomp to the corpse, it had given up completely.

They do not understand you. Do you not fear?

Your worst enemy is yourself, and yet you seemed to be unbothered. You cannot pretend you have walked through life unscathed.

It is your memories that hold you to the person that you were, to amount to the light you can become…

You must understand the power of your mind.

Vanellope made one small movement of her right hand. To her surprise, she noticed the corpse flew to the left. It was there she finally understood she had full power on her mind, and this is the perfect time to finish everything.

Another small movement with the same hand was made, and this time the corpse flew to the right. The last movement she had decided on was to ram the corpse against the wall.

Vanellope walked up to it as it struggled to get up. No, she wouldn't allow it to continue, and with one final movement to finish everything off, she took her index finger on her right hand and pointed it downward, forcing it onto the ground before it could get up. There, the corpse laid down completely still, not even making one single movement.

To make sure it decided to no longer fight back, Vanellope crouched and examined it with her own eyes. No movements were made whatsoever, which told her that yes, she had completed Gekyume's demand.

It had been all done and dealt with, and Gekyume seemed to be satisfied.

You have done well at battling yourself.

Your coded demon seems to honor your efforts.

Are you satisfied?

With that, Vanellope finally got up from the chair and walked off.
