She cannot love him because if she does then that means she came back wrong. It means that something isn't right.
This isn't right, this isn't real…she just wants to feel—alive.
There's that word again. Something that she is—was, no is. Or at least that's what they are telling her. Hundred and forty-seven days. That's how long she's been dead.
Today she's alive so a hundred and forty-eight doesn't really count. Her hands are raw and aching, knuckles split right through to bone from clawing her way out of her coffin.
She cannot love but she can trust.
