Jason and Canella walked towards their destination, the lake by the forest next to the city. It was late evening, and the sun was almost down. It was just a casual stroll, as usual. "Nothing better than a Friday night… except maybe chocolate…" Jason said, sarcastically. Canella frowned.

"I hate Fridays." Jason made a weird face.

"Duh. That's why I said chocolate." Canella hit him on the shoulder.

"I know that, dumbass. And don't duh me." Jason rubbed his arm a little. They had an 11 o'clock curfew, and it was around 8. They never… did anything, they were just friends. And they had been for 8 years. Since 2nd grade. Just friends. Neither of them, truthfully, had really even thought about the other person in sexual ways. Except Canella, for she had wondered why they had never gone out. But that was a long time ago… Jason, on the other hand, thought of it as a great idea, but then decided that it could hurt the long time friendship they had. So, neither of them said anything about it, and it eventually was a forgotten essence. Jason looked over the lake once he got there, just being able to see the whole of it. It was a fairly large lake, with no fogginess or abstractions, except for occasional ice floating around in the winter. He then walked over to a spot by the tree he usually sleeps by. He sat down by it and looked over the whole scenery. It was beautiful during these hours. The lake was enclosed by the forest, except for the trail that led to the city, and it was pretty small. A car couldn't even fit through it. To the north, northeast, and south of the lake, each in the forest, was buildings. One was a large lumber store, one was a lake house, and one was a… well, they didn't know what it was, but it was fairly large and gave the essence of a prison. Jason examined the surroundings until a grey shirt got in his way. He blinked in slight anger.

"Dammit, Can, move!" Canella did a little dance mockingly before sitting down. Jason shook his head. Canella moved a little closer to him, like she always did. Jason wrapped his arm around her, as always. She liked this gesture. She never thought of it as anything, she just saw it as…. Well, an arm. Jason's arm. Which meant nothing to either of them. They talked for a while and eventually fell asleep.

Canella woke up and immediately yawned. She looked first at the lake, which was pitch black. She looked around; something seemed different… she then heard something move. Something like footsteps, but a little heavier. She looked to her left to see a figure walking towards her. She was a little confused. "Hello?" The figure kept walking. She immediately woke Jason. He twitched a little, then rubbed his eyes.

"Dammit woman, what's wrong?" She nudged him a little, irritating him.

"There's someone here." He got up slowly and looked to where she was pointing. The figure was now way closer. Not within body range, but close enough to see its shape. Its head was shaded like a triangle, and it had a strange weapon-like thing in it's hand. Jason flinched.

"It's head is not shaped right…" When it eventually got closer, Jason stepped a large hint back, as did Canella. "Holy fuck!" Canella sniffed in fear.

"It has a pyramid on it's head!" The figure got close enough for the two kids to see it's full body, and Jason shook his head. "Dammit…. Pyramid Head?" Canella looked at him funny. The figure held it's weapon out- it was an axe. Jason and Canella thought it was going to slash them into pieces. It dropped the weapon and turned to walk away.
