Jyotisha
See me rise, watch me fall
I'm not steady at all
Cause sometimes life hurts like hell
I know this too well
He is at the height of his power now. Complete control of the universe is within his grasp. All he has to do is clench his fist and watch worlds crumble...but his black-gloved hand is stayed. The universe has proven, yet again, that destiny must have something to say in the matter. That is the uncertainty which is ironically interwoven with this power. It is a long, long way to fall. And he could fall...now that he knows. He never thought, ever, that he would feel again. After Mustafar, he'd believed all his emotions had been burnt away along with his body. But he can feel now. And it hurts...he remembers that pain...he knows it. He is thankful that he is clad in an impassive, emotionless mask. No one can see his ambivalence. No one, that is, except his Master. He can see right through the armour, as if it doesn't exist. And the Emperor will use that...he will use his son against him. It has been 20 years at least since he was this indecisive. All because of this boy...
Birds fly south, winter's blue
I'll put my faith in you
Cause sometimes life hurts like hell
I know this too well
This boy with faith. His power is growing, his strength in the Force. His Light shines like the twin suns of his home planet, like a star gone super-nova. His task would be easier, he knows, if his opposite were not his own father. He has come to understand, as he matured, the truth of his father. With this, has come the fist pangs of the reality of life. To learn your father isn't the hero you'd always believed stings. All the glories he'd fabricated in his childhood about his father have been cast into the cold light of the truth, and he is left holding the shadows of doubt and fear. But he still has faith. The belief that he can turn his father back to that light burns in him like a new star. He will use that light, and focus it on the abyss of darkness which holds his father. It is a deep, seemingly bottomless pit, but his son refuses to believe it is unplumbable.
When it's dark, the stars come out
And for a moment we are saved
Yeah when it's dark, in your darkest hour
Stars come out
But they will both realize, at the end, in that dark, dark hour of their final destiny, that they can save each other. For in the darkness, the light can still shine through. They will realize that you can love the darkness, for it will show you the stars.
