Title: Thor: Plans
Universe: Pre-Thor 1

Author's Note: This is for the flash fan fiction friday sentence prompt theme; I chose "I swear that this is part of the plan." I was real tempted to write a trine fic (they'd be perfect for that prompt), but then this came to me. This occurs before the first Thor movie, when everyone is still getting along. Part of this plot bunny sprang from Volstagg's comment in Thor 1 that Loki had always been a trickster. Word count: 298
"I swear, it's part of the plan!" Loki whispered to the others as he joined them. The moon cast sharp shadows across their features. They gathered at the plaza's edge, overlooking a sewage drain far below. Next to the sluggish waterway, a paved path led away. "Jump!"
Thor, Sif and the Warriors Three turned incredulous eyes to him. Sif raised her brows. Volstagg said, "A sewer? Surely he jests."
Behind them, they could hear sentries raise the alarm. Fandral faced the distant cries. "We can take them. 'Twill be glorious!"
"Our mission is one of stealth, not strength. Come, friends!" Thor gestured at his brother. "He has led us thus far. That is our way out!" He swung Mjolnir and lifted himself into the air. Moments later, he landed below on the path.
"Truly, I prefer missions of strength, not sewers. For Asgard," Fandral said with a sigh, leaping over the edge. He landed in the thick waste with a plop. Volstagg, Hogun and Sif followed closely behind. As each one landed, the refuse splattered the others, covering them with even more muck.
"We must be leaving," Loki called to them. They glanced up and found him on the path, completely unsullied.
"How…?" Hogun asked.
"The ladder, of course." Loki smirked, cocking his head toward the wooden framework in question.
"A ladder?" Volstagg sputtered as he lifted himself from the waterway. "You had us jump, as part of your 'plan'! You never mentioned any ladder!"
"Oh, it was part of a plan. My 'get them to jump into a river of shite' plan." Loki stood, hands clasped behind his back. Thor burst out laughing. Loki's gaze flicked sideways to his brother, a small smile upon his lips. "It's four-fifths complete."
