A/N: A poem I wrote for English based on the character Yuu Narukami/Souji Seta from Persona 4: Golden. I hope you like it.
City Boy
Feeling alone in a crowded room
The sounds of the city are all around me
Blaring on like an alarm
Why won't it all stop?
Moved to a faraway place
Hoping to escape the loneliness
I ran away
What a coward I am
Met a few people
Quickly became friends
My days seemed to shine a little brighter
Smiling down at me for the first time in ages
Happiness didn't last long here
No surprise there
It wasn't long before I was cast back into despair
I couldn't run away this time
Don't look at me this time
I can't solve your problems
Stop gazing at me that way
False hope will get you nowhere
Bound by meaningless obligation
I'm stuck fighting shadows
Why couldn't I just be left alone?
I'm just a mouse running away from the waiting mouth of a voracious cat
My life has never been happy
Tears streaming down my face
Love was something I lacked in my earlier years
Sadness was natural, I drowned in it
I'm not a hero
A hero is something I could never be
Stop calling on me
A worthless city boy like me
