IT WAS DARK, IT WAS RAINY, and the entire city of Beacon was just plain dreary. Two shapes, walking slowly and seeming about as sad, hunched, and rainy as the night before them. The taller boy, blue-haired and tan, carried a heavy limp and was leaning on to his shorter friend. Both boys were drenched to the bone, sides heaving as their breath misted in the air.

Thick, sticky blood oozed from Neptune's abdomen. He and his best friend had been ambushed by a large group of Grimm, and, although well trained, 0nly barely survived the attack. Nausea threatened to take Neptune's consciousness with every step. When they entered their room, the faunus flipped a switch and Neptune's world flooded with light. His knees buckled, and he collapsed on the floor with a groan and a wave of dizzyness. His vision faded in and out until finally, he crumpled to the ground and fell unconscious.

VIVID COLORS BLINDED NEPTUNE as he struggled to move and sit up. Placing one sweaty hand on the couch he lay on, the boy attempted to get up. Pain exploded in his stomach, and for a few moments everything became very confusing and fuzzy. Colors flashed in the corner of his eyes, obstructing his vision. Finally, with a moan, he fell back on to the couch and closed his eyes to once again fall asleep.

"NEPTUNE? HEY, BUDDY?" A familiar voice racked the injured boy's brain as he struggled to regain consciousness. He tried (and failed) to once again sit up, a groan escaping through his clenched teeth as he fell back on to the couch.

After about half an hour, Neptune was fully awake. A feeble breath pushed past his lips and he began to sit up, this time not experiencing as much pain as the first attempt. He was, to his surprise, wearing nothing but a T-shirt and a fresh pair of underwear. Confused, he managed to prop himself up against the back of the couch and sink into the cushion. Recalling the blurry events, he closed his eyes and murmured, "S-Sun?"

"Hey man, you're awake," came the reply.

"Yeahh.. Did you-" Neptune gestured to his changed clothes awkwardly.

"Uh," Neptune couldn't see his friend's face, but he was sure it was flushed red. "Yeah. I did."

Both of them felt hot with embarrassment. Neptune was confused. Finally, his eyes fluttered open and he turned to look at his best friend, the blond faunus. His heart beat fast in his chest, and he thought that Sun could hear it on the other side of the loveseat. "Okay," he muttered, being taken by surprise as Sun started scooting next to him. The taller boy felt butterflies in his stomach as a hand was placed on his thigh. "Sun?" he said, again, this time a bit more nervously. "Sun, I.."

"I know.."
